It appears to me that as BushCo continues to sink in the polls, the entire republican party is being dragged down on their coattails. Is this accurate, and if so, then does it actually help the Ds for BushCo to slog through the next couple of years, and continue to handicap the R's even more?

1. It is true. The question is will he do too much harm for us to continue?
Unless and until we get open fair elections there is no hope of reversing the decent into fascism and misery. aWoL is just the face of the beast.

2. Agreed...
Bill Maher was right... making Bush responsible for the messes he made his first four years during these second four years should "out" the Repubs as the corrupt, elitists they are, and finally spotlight their master plan to gut the US treasury and economy to benefit the upper crust, at the expense of everyone else.

3. The longer he stays to more desperate they become.
When they get to the point Republicans are not electable even with Diebold machines, there will be no more pretense and no more elections.

4. It might lead to a responsible Republican rising to the top by going
against Bush/Cheney and the status quo, or maybe even a group of them that operate outside the normal republican circle. That would be a good thing in my opinion because maybe the lunatics on the far right will be exposed for what they are by those within the Party, it is obvious they will listen to no one else.

5. Disagree, we can't afford it
Either politically, if we are to remain a viable member of the world
community or economically. It's like saying how long can you tolerate sitting in a car which is careening down the street at 90 miles an hour with the driver slumped over the wheel.

7. Good point.
Not only that, the general public has a short memory. What happens if Walking Titanic Boy actually tapers off? Better to cap this moron while the shit is fresh off the fan blade and eternally cement his legacy as a complete and total failure.

10. Also we need accountability for this administration
Otherwise, the Lee Atwater want-to-bes will be plotting more ruthless
behavior.

6. True, the worry is what damage is he doing to America both at home and in
the world?
Will the next Democratic Congress and the Next Democratic President repair the damage done by this regime of thugs?
Will the world see us for what has happened to us?
If bu$h's troubles can stay in the news through next fall it will insure that Democrats will regain control of Congress then proceedings can be brought forth that will expose the lies for what they are. Then in 08 America can finally start its long road to recovery from the bu$h years. Hopefully with bu$h and Cheney behind bars with their hit men Scooter and Rove.

8. But he's making everyone take ethics classes
And now they'll all be healed!
:sarcasm:
Sorry, the coverage of that this morning made me want to puke.
I agree. The longer he stays, the more of a drain he is on the Rs. I think it helps the Dem party in the long run, but I don't think it helps the country right now. Can we hang in for three more years until the D's can turn this ship around?
Our hope lies in the '06 results.

9. the pigmedia....
i think ham sandwiches for everybody would do alot more for the restoration of sensible government than just sinking the right...remember, almost 90 percent of the right's ideas are reasonable (the idea that public money shouldn't be used to fund lazy people, or that regulation of bizness should be flexible, or that vicious criminals/traitors like limbah-humbug, owhorelly, hannazi john gibson, wolf les blitzer, tony snow, robert novak, brite hum ad nazism should be hanged in public iow the death penalty etc)...a really well informed, decent electorate would probably not even consider the reagans or bushes if the pigmedia wasn't so pigheaded. And too much of local media are pigheads...here they say 'happy capitalism' as if that means something!

12. The Right Has Been Taken Over by Fundies and Robber Barons

"The right" in the US is a coalition of fundies and robber barons.
The fundies want to create a theocracy, and the robber barons are
OK with that because it will keep wages low.

It is difficult to imagine anything more destructive to freedom and democracy than that.

remember, almost 90 percent of the right's ideas are reasonable

Banning abortion and birth control? Wrecking Social Security?
The PATRIOT Act?

the idea that public money shouldn't be used to fund lazy people

So why is the government still paying Brown's salary?
Why was he ever hired in the first place? He wasn't even
competent to take care of horses -- got fired from his last job.
Why do we continue to give no-bid contracts to the likes of
Halliburton when they have been proven to be ripping off the
taxpayer over and over?

I assume that you weren't talking about that (since the right never does)
you were talking about welfare reform. Both parties have done welfare
reform. Both made it harder for people to stay on welfare.
The difference is that under Clinton, more jobs were created in the
US than under any other President in living memory. Under Bush**,
job growth has not even kept up with population growth -- the worst
performance in that area since Herbert Hoover.
How are people trying to get off of welfare going to get jobs, when
companies are laying off and offshoring? When people who have years
of work experience can't get work, what chance do those on welfare have?

regulation of bizness should be flexible

Dems have been bending over on that one for years.

vicious criminals/traitors like limbah-humbug, owhorelly, hannazi john gibson, wolf les blitzer, tony snow, robert novak, brite hum ad nazism should be hanged in public iow the death penalty etc)

I do not support the death penalty. Those who knowingly participated
in the war crimes should be sent to the Hague, along with Bush**, Cheney, Rumsfeld...

13. They Are Taking Over the Courts - They Are Taking Over Everything
Even as their popularity drops, their power continues to increase.
They are on the verge of replacing a swing USSC vote with one of
their own.

The longer they are in power the more powerful they become.
