Freepers: WaPo's story on hidden prisons will kill people
I always go spy over at Freeperville, thinking that one must know his/her enemy. Their latest, however, make me really wonder about their sanity. How could they read about the illegal, hidden prisons, and say that it is the fault of the Washington Post for exposing this??

I know Freepers like torture, I think it gives them a sexual thrill to think about shoving broomsticks up other peoples' butts, it gets them excited to think about burning people, degrading them sexually and emotionally. What other explanation for this; do they really believe that what we are doing is in the name of spreading freedom, in the name of protecting ourselves? Freedom spreads as we spread your butt and shove a broken light bulb up it?? Sorry to be so graphic, but I think these people in our society are the sickest and most depraved, sexually and emotionally, that exist in our midst. We need to totally and completely discredit the philosophy that creates this:

Examples from Freeperville:

I am literally sickened by the Washington Post. How many innocent people will have to die at the hands of terrorists because the Washington Post has exposed all of these nations helping America in our War on Terror?

No doubt the Washington Post was hoping that this article was going to damage GW. The WP has exposed of these freedom loving people that live in these countries, to the hatred of the terrorists. Why would the WP endanger the lives of the people that live in these countries?

To: KCRW
This is an outrage.

To say the least.

To: KCRW

I completely agree.
The CIA itself is actively working to undermine the prez.
The media sharks are desperate for another watergate and will invent horrors if none exist - recall katrina coverage, the Abu ghraib puffup etc.
Worst thing is the attitude that media has like its speaking for the average joe. Who elected the media anyway?

To: KCRW

To screw Bush over. Anything to look bad, anything to get rid of him. They don't give a crap about the others in these freedom loving countries. They are heartless, monstrous pigs who will do anything for a story no matter how many lives it costs in the end. Just so long as they have a story to screw someone over.

To: KCRW

Sounds like it is time for a REAL investigation into the CIA's activity's. Right along with this reporter and whomever gave her this information.

This is nothing short of treason.

Me again: This is my country, but it is becoming unrecognizable. We must get this out to all corners of our nation. Most republicans do not agree with this, they do not think that this is okay. We need to discredit them.

1. They must think illegal shit is OK so long as nobody reports it?
No, dumb shits, it is the fact that we are doing this secret torture that is gonna hurt OUR troops. No way info will not get out and piss off the civil populations, inciting them to become uncivil populations.

Friggin idiot freeps.

5. They care more about the Republican Party than they do
about our country, our country's soldiers and all human beings in general. How myopic is that?

3. Freepers, as a whole,
are a bunch of no-good, lilly-livered goddamned sissies.

Welcome to FREEDOM, you little pissants! Freedom of the press and of speech!

They're so fond of that "freedom isn't free" horseshit, but never stopped to consider that freedom isn't easy, either. Fascism is simple. Freedom is damned hard work. And part of that freedom involves being free enough to BE a sovereign, to demand zealous searching from the 4th Estate and hold OUR government accountable for the acts undertaken in our names.

Fuck a freeper. They're no one I should ever care to call either "Brother" or "Fellow citizen."

8. "Freedom isn't free..."
But they want other people's pride, honor, money, blood, etc... to pay the bill. Hard work, hell they don't even want to think hard.

4. I guess then by their pre-preemptive "logic"

they'd better hurry down to the WaPo building and do a McVeigh on it, before it nearly kills any more Americans with accurate reporting. It's a rare occurrence at WaPo, but even one instance of truthtelling can be too many!

6. What they don't
get is that this is only the tip of the iceberg so far as I can tell. The story is old. We should have connected all of these dots back at the beginning of the year when the story broke about renditions.
My pet theory in this is that we are outsourcing not only locations of these black sites to marginal "democracies," but I am sure that we are hiring mercenaries as ancillary interrogators and prison guards in order to keep CIA people as "clean" as possible. That is more in line with what I consider actions destructive to the morality of our country.

7. Yes, it's amazing that they are concerned about
the reporting, but don't give a damn about a secret prison in an old Soviet country!!! Don't they even get the evil irony of it - we now have GULAGS!!

Jesus Christ, I want to tear my hair out sometimes.

9. As Steven Colbert says, "The word of the day is: Shhhhhhh!"
This is precisely what all the fuss was over John Kerry and the VVAW, both thirty-five years ago and one year ago. These same sort of idiots think the people we're fighting have NO other cause to kill or torture US soldiers except for what they've read in US newspapers.

Remember? Supposedly the Viet Cong had NO idea what was happening to their own fighters, civilians, villages, etc. until they picked up the NY Times one day and read about John Kerry. Otherwise, they'd have been really really nice to the POWs.

Same thing now. They have to believe that NObody else in the world would know how we're treating prisoners (not even the prisoners we release) just as long as WE don't know.

Iraqi's don't know what's happening in Iraq until they pick up the Washington Post.

And only by reading the Post do they become angered. Other than the fact that we've bombed the bejeezus out of their country, killed their family members, failed to guard munitions, and made their country a hotbed of violence and bloodshed, they'd LOVE Americans. Damn that Washington Post for blowing our cover!! :sarcasm:

12. As long as corporations make money for the few here,
No one is concerned with what they do over there. Even if Americans have 'very' short memories other people do remember.

11. Hate to say it but...
what you are seeing is racism disguised.

I think conservative/liberal paradigm doesn't explain this properly but racism does.

In their minds it is somehow okay for Americans/British/Australians etc. ("white countries" although their populations are multicultural) to go and beat up on the citizens of "non-white" countries at will. It makes them feel powerful.

I don't think they would condone torture of Timothy McVeigh types to gather information about the next terrorist attack but it is okay to torture people that don't look like them.

Look where most freepers live - the red states. The red states used to be massively blue and they changed practically overnight over ONE issue - civil rights.

14. Yes - Johnson said the Dems would lose the South
for a generation after they pushed the Civil Rights - well, it is longer than a generation, and it is still lost to progressive ideas (of course, I am talking for the most part, not DUers at all.)

15. WE TORTURE THEM THERE - BECAUSE IT IS AGAINST OUR
LAW HERE! Freepers, Since when to the guys in white, the good guys rely on Torture? We are now no better than Hitler and his concentration camps, Stalin and His Gulags. No better than SADDAM HUSSEIN and his torture rooms.

We have just stooped to their level...what say you? Proud?

16. Okay, let me try to understand their logic. The European Union
is investigating charges that the US has secret prisons in former SSRs, and then, the WAPO writes an article about the secret prisons, so that is treason. But blowing the cover of a twenty year CIA operation, Brewster Jennings, that provided cover for NOCs tracking WMDs in a war about WMDs is not treason. Hmmmm....

Bill Maher hit the nail on the head. The Republicans have a "cult of personality" worship and no principals.
