7. I'll take a flu shot, just because I get sick easily, and would end up
out of work for a month during the winter if I don't.

But I'm not going to get a bird flu vaccination unless it's actually a problem, which it doesn't seem to be right now.

4. A Reduex of Chicken Little??
The timing is more concerning to me. Can anyone find CDC stats on how many people due to preventable illness/injury as compared to the number of people projected to die IF bird flu strikes?

I don't know much about the epi of past flu pandemics, but we have progressed beyond where we were in 1918 re hygenine and managing secondary infections etc...will this flu be as virulent with this in mind?

5. What bullshit
I just watched somebody on CNN, a professor in micro-biology (I'm trying to get a link), saying there is NO evidence that the flu can spread to humans, as it is BIRDFLU. Even if it mutates enough times to inefect a human, it will not be contagious

This is whole scare so stransparent - the old scare tactics again.

9. British Medical Journal - Editorial
The British Medical Journal features an editorial on the bird flu in which it is reported that they state the following:
The lack of sustained human-to-human transmission suggests that this AH5N1 avian virus does not currently have the capacity to cause a human pandemic.

Here is a link to the first 150 words of the article http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/extract/331/7523/975 the full article requires a subscription or payment. I have not read the article in full.

6. Our city already had a run through
a week or so ago. It was the first time the health department had tried drive-through clinics and it was a practice run in the event we had a national disaster and the public had to be immunized quickly.
