1. I would like to see this info in estimated numbers, not percentages.
However, from eyeballing it, it looks like I really ought to leave the country. I'd rather be in a socialist country where the wealth is spread around, if they're going to be taking from me every last penny I've got anyway.

I hope the have-nots who voted for bush take a good hard look at the next screw-job he's planning for them.

3. Yes,
the $5 tax break for Joe Main Street, offset 100 times by decreases in public education, sanitation, police, fire, libraries, etc. coupled with the $500,000 tax break for Joe Heir. These people are sickening.

4. I've looked at this and looked at this, and these "proposals"
are nothing but a tax increase for me. Bushco wants to raise MY taxes! There is NOTHING in it that is fair to me (and I consider myself middle class, and possibly towards the upper end).

I will lose my deductions that benefit me most. I WILL carry more of the tax burden.

I think it needs to be framed as a tax increase.

5. But there will be less paperwork to fill out...
...that seems to be the "talking point."

The National Sales Tax ("Fair Tax") was shot down, but the "Tax Advisory Panel" is trying to bury variances of the consumption tax in one of the two proposals.

I've seen NOTHING to date...other than Red State propaganda...that indicates ANYTHING OTHER THAN an increased burden for the middle / working class and HUGE windfalls for Bush's "base."

I want to see him try to pull this off with a 35% approval rating.

7. I saw that. You save on your accountant costs. Big damn
deal. I plunk down my $35 for TurboTax and do it all myself.

I can't believe they're going ahead with even the suggestions.

6. Low income working people are losers, trust fund people are winners.
Single parent, income of $20,000, LOSES $1,063 in refund.

Single parent, income of $32,000, GAINS with $723 tax cut.

Married parents, 2 kids, income $50,000, loses with $1,050 tax increase.

Other gainers - Taxpayers whose income comes largely from investments, since the capital gains rate would drop significantly and dividends would be tax free.

So the working poor with children, the working lower middle class are losers.

The non-working, inherited wealth people are winners.

Who would've guessed?

Whoops - posted to worng thread. Sorry, see -

9. Not to mention the local level tax increases
that will make up for what the Feds have taken away. In Indiana, I will be paying higher county and property taxes.
How do the nitwits supporting Shrub's plan think the loss revenue will be made up?

Classrooms are packed full, and they are letting teachers go. Get rid of the mortgage exemption, and we will be paying
a whole lot more than we ever have.
