2. NJ is Blue
Why isn't he coming to VA?

Bush will be here Monday to campaign for the Repug. We could use someone big in VA Monday.

9. The southern nature of both of them, and the military appeal of Clark.
to Virginians. The VA candidates have kept their distance from Howard Dean pretty constantly....I don't think it is a good idea, but that's their right.

The Southern thingy and the military are apparently what the candidates there think the people want.

10. And something else to remember.....
Some who questioned Kaine's strong religious views were banned from some blogs. One was banned for just posting an article from the American Prospect using his own words about choice, etc. It was strange thing to have happen.

I am not being ugly on this, but they seem to think Dean will hurt them. I think that is a shame, but it is their right. They have had a lot of big Dems there, like Richardson, Obama, Clinton.

I don't think people from there should keep blaming Dean from not showing where he has roundly criticized by the leaders there. I frankly don't blame him.

8. I don't think VA folks want him there.
I think though some of the people themselves may ask for him to come...(I have noticed that at the BFA blog) I don't think Warner and Kaine much approve of him.

Don't worry, a lot of big names have gone to VA already. I really don't think Warner and Kaine care for Dean that much.

3. That seems like a good
way to campaign..go to 6 different rallies~

Good Luck Jon Corzine.

doug forrester was the one rove was campaigning for when he made all those denigrating remarks about Democrats.

snip~
"Last month, Doug Forrester and the New Jersey Republican Party held a fundraiser with Karl Rove as the star attraction. We don't know what Rove said, because the event was closed to the press and public. But we can guess, because the day after the Forrester fundraiser Karl Rove tore into progressives, saying "liberals saw the savagery of the 9-11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers." What did Forrester have to say about this baseless partisan attack? Nothing.
Now according to his own lawyer, Karl Rove is involved in leaking the identity of a CIA undercover agent working to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Yet Forrester is still silent, apparently believing that it's more important to protect the patronage of the national Republican Party leadership than the safety of our country."

Couldnt this be seen as a risk for the Corzine campaign? Im sure the Forrester camp will have a spot up the day after Dean comes to town linking Corzine to Dean and his 2004 Presidential campaign. Thoughts?

12. Shouldn't hurt in NJ - Bush coming could hurt Republicans
The biggest problem is Corzine's ex-wife talked very negatively about him abandoning his values and letting his family down 2 days ago and Forrester has it in an ad today.

That and the Star Ledger - which endorsed Kerry (and from editorials I knew they would) endorsed Forrester. As did Morris county's Record (which swings between parties - they also endorsed Kerry).

Corzine was 10-12 points up, so he may still pull it out. (I know from phoning many wish Codey was running.

but as of a week ago, the people summarizing the results were happy with the Corzine totals compared to prior years.

17. It shouldn't hurt in VA either. That is the problem.
There should be no hesitancy now with any candidate standing up with any other Democrat. People want a big tent? Then that includes outspoken people as well.

19. Absolutely pathetic that the Ledger and the Record would endorse
Forrester. The Record is based in Bergen County, though, isn't it??
(It used to be the Bergen Evening Record, out of Hackensack, then changed to the Record and broadened its coverage)

NJ would be a huge disappointment if it fell for Forrester's crap. Really. I would be ashamed of my home state...

I know the Morris County one endorsed Forrester. the Bergen one was always more liberal I think.

23. I just heard his lead in 2 polls shrank one is 46% to 42%
and the other less. i live in NYC and just heard this on NBC. I hope it's wrong but I'm worried. I do however remember last year they said the polls showed that Bush could win NJ and Kerry won double digits. I sure hope that's the same this time

14. See what I mean? Be afraid, be very afraid.
That is exactly what I meant about VA candidates. Now, perhaps you don't realize that Corzine backed Dean and was never afraid or ashamed to be seen with a good man like him.

You wanted thoughts? I call it being afraid to stand up for what you believe.

Im simplying raising Dean's appreance as an issue. Dean will motivate Democrats, but he could also motivate conservatives who would have normally sat out this race considering Forrester is a moderate, pro-choice, Republican.

22. It should not be an issue if people stood up for their beliefs.
I really do feel that way. I think that allowing the media and the GOP to cause any of our Democrats to stand off from each other is wrong.

Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 09:50 PM by Gloria
on my way to work everyday! OH WOW, too bad I don't live in NJ anymore! Hats off to Pam!! Somerset and Windsor were also in my frequent flight path...

Terhune Orchards and E. Windsor are pretty much the same area, Somerset up a bit further toward the New Brunswick/Franklin Twp. area.

He's really sticking to the center of the state, until he gets up to Newark....

I'd very much doubt he'll get from Terhune to 206 and then to Somerset in an hour and a half.

20. Yeah, getting from E. Windsor across Princeton over to
Lawrence/Hopewell Twp. Area (Terhune) will be a slow go...He'll probably do about 10 minutes at the rallies if he is going to make that schedule.

And it could be a crawl up 27 or even if takes the Route through Amwell to get to Somerset....

His schedule was similarly tight. His events all seemed to go well anyway.

Don't know if I can make it, it's a trek, but I could use a little political inspiration.

We've been deluged with attack ads here. If you believe any of it you'd think that they should just skip the state house and march the winners (and losers) straight into Rahway State Prison.

seasons, spring, summer, and fall..but not winter(BRR!). That's why I'm moving back to Hawaii in a couple of years.

I just copied one of those pics of Dean and Doug Palmer and put it on a thread where someone was lamenting that Dean didn't "win the primary". I said "this is what Dean is up to now and I'm grateful he's there."
