http://www.dailydemocrat.com/letters/ci_3183499This president is working hard to go down in history as the "Great Protector." Having protected New York City, Washington, D.C., and New Orleans (come to think of it, didn't he just lose the battles of New York, Washington, and New Orleans?) he is working hard now to protect us from the Great Flu of 1918. This time he is starting to pay attention to evolutionary scientists, if they are from drug companies, especially if their stock is owned by Donald Rumsfeld, another Protector, former CEO of Gilead Inc., which manufactures bird flu vaccine. Well, it's only fair. The president has given hundreds of billions in no-bid "contracts" on America to Cheney's Halliburton for the reconstruction of destroyed cities "protected" here and in Iraq. He should give at least $7 billion to Rumsfeld's Gilead to put some no-bid balm of Gilead on his incompetent friend's palms.
Long live the avian-ocracy of the Bush family, which protects many vultures and velociraptors in its foreign oily entanglements.
Do something positive. Vote on Nov. 8. Vote no on everything. Or else we will continue to be easy pickings for "isn't that special" elections and elective Republican wars on working stiffs here and abroad.
