Imus vs Santorum interview: "so misguided it's almost disturbing."
Audio of Santorum on Imus today

WHOA. We're not sure where to even begin with this one. Rick Santorum called in unannounced to Imus today after Imus apparently referred to Rick as a "suit dummy." Rick wanted to refute Imus' characterization of him. We don't believe he was successful.

Here's the audio of a large chunk of the interview.
http://santorumexposed.com/serendipity/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3NhbnRvcnVtZXhwb3NlZC5jb20vdmlkZW8vSW11czExLTIubXAz&entry_id=91

In the clip Rick does the following:

* Says Libby, Cheney and Chalabi are all honest and didn't lie.
* Claims Joe Wilson is a liar.
* Says the CIA has a grudge against Chalabi and tried to destroy him.
* Snaps out on Imus for challenging his claims (a recurring theme we've discussed before).
* Compares not being able to safely drive from the Baghdad Airport into Baghdad today to conditions in Philadelphia in 1778 - to which, Imus points out there was no airport in Philadelphia then.
* Says that Imus' wife called him and said she wanted to "do a threesome."
* Calls Bill Frist "a really decent, honorable man."

Besides pointing out the problem with Rick's comparison of Baghdad to Philadelphia in 1778, Imus has at least two great lines during the interview. Almost 5 minutes into the audio clip, in response to Rick's analysis of the situation in Iraq Imus says, "you have an IV of the neo-con Kool-Aid, don't you?" One minute later in the clip Imus accuses Rick of being "so misguided it's almost disturbing."

"Suit dummy" sounds much nicer in comparison.

2. Wow
I've never been much of an Imus fan but it sounds like he did well on this one. Credit where credit is due. Rick Santorum is worse than hantavirus.

4. As much as I disagree with or dislike Imus, I have to give him credit...
When I disagree with Imus's politics, I'm disagreeing with Imus. When he's wrong, it's because he's an idiot-- not because he's following someone else's marching orders.

He thinks for himself, even if he doesn't always think clearly.

By the way, anyone remember his Press Club Dinner with Clinton?

6. He's a wheezing woman hater
and has no right to criticize anyone because his own life is so tranparently racist. I'm no fan of Santorum. As a matter of fact, these two deserve each other.

7. 1st thing Santorum said to Imus was "your wife called and wants a 3-some"
I'm serious.. Not sure if it's on that clip or not.

Evidently --- even while Imus supports a lot of Democrats, he's also buddy-buddy with Santorum.

What the threesome comment was about.. was that Imus' wife called Santorum and started her conversation with "how about a threesome?"

Had something to do with a lunch (or something) with Rich, Rick's wife and Imus' wife.

Later in the program, Chip Reid of MSNBC came on and Imus asked him about something.. He changed the subject with "I can't believe that Christian Conservation came on your show talking about threesomes!"

I don't usually catch Imus b'cas it comes on here at about 4:00 a.m.. but I woke up early and wound up watching this one.

Santorum also told Imus that his pick for Tennesee, Harold Ford, Jr. was losing in the polls. Imus was pretty disturbed hearing that and looked shocked. :o ...They later received info while on the air that Santorum was FULL OF SHIT -- and that Ford is kicking ass there.

What a show --- Santorum is a complete idiot. Oh- and they also confirmed on that show that Santorum is doing CRAPPY in his own polls! http://eliteleague.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol!.gif

9. That comment was all kinds of creepy !
Don't know if that was the very first thing he said; in the clip I heard it came much later, but Crikey! what a strange conversation.

Methinks there are a lot of trouser stains in DC this week.

8. Do you hear the desperation in Santorum's voice???
And the whiny, rushed sentences - he also admitted that Wilson did not say he "found something" which has been a Hannity talking point.

Tick, tock, tick, tock - do you hear that, Ricky boy??? That's the clock ticking away the year until you go back to private life. Hee hee.

12. I'm kicking this one to the top
If anyone has five minutes to listen to Crazy Santorum and Imus bashing Santorum's silly little head against the wall, it will be well worth your time.

I promise.
