Clark hits on patriotism, faith, values in Arizona
Clark said that Bush had not done all he could to protect Americans before 9/11 and that Bush had taken them into an unnecessary war in Iraq.

"I don't think it's patriotic to dress up in a flight suit and prance around on the deck of an aircraft carrier," Clark said.

But he said he didn't just want to criticize Bush.

"I'm not running to bash Bush," he said. "I'm running to replace him."

Clark said Republicans mistakenly believe they have the corner on family values.

"One political party acts like they have a pipeline or direct routing system passing information down to them from the Almighty every morning," he joked to howls in the audience.

But he said that his faith taught him that those more fortunate should take care of those less fortunate, and that it is the Democratic Party that lives those values.

Jobs, education and health care are all family values, and Bush's administration has lost jobs and cut funding to health care and education, Clark said.

2. I really love Clark and want him somewhere on the Democratic ticket.
I'll take him as Presidential candidate or VP. Either one he'll be awesome.

10. Me too
Although I had my doubts about Clark in the past, I am increasingly starting to see what an asset he is to our party. A Kerry/Clark ticket would be awesome. I'd love to see Bush or Rove try to call that ticket "weak" on national security. That would be hilarious!

15. Clark/Kerry could call Bush/Cheney weak on national security.
Or at least, severely misguided.

11. Good
We can't let the Republicans -- the party that has given us three years of war, recession, scandal, and terror alerts -- get away with their "family values" crap any longer. We Democrats are the ones standing for true family values these days.

14. Take down of Rethuglican Rhetoric
I have heard Clark's stump a bunch of times (I think that I can recite it by heart). One of the things that it does effectively is take down the hypocrisy of the Republicans' rhetoric. Who does not agree with him when he says that "family values are about supporting families" rather than dividing one group from another (sometimes he says "what it takes to have a family" instead). And he uses this statement to defend the whole range of liberal social programs. He has done a great job taking back some core Democratic values and has put the party as a whole on firmer footing.
