Sen Murray talking point on Ed Schultz: Miers and the up/down vote
How can they ever talk about up or down votes again, as I guess Frist was doing today if I heard correctly from Sen. Murray. They Borked Meirs out of contention. She didn't get a chance to go through the process. She didn't get an up or down vote.

Dems should repeat this. They may need it in a while if they filibuster, which is a possibility considering Reids was saying even before he was nominated that Scalito was going to be a big problem.

5. The Right Wing talking point re: the judge nominations they almost
went nuclear over, like Owens and Brown. They kept repeating that these people deserved an "up or down vote". It became a mantra. Up or down, up or down, over and over.

And yet they didn't think Meirs deserved one for some reason. They never even mentioned it. So only wingnuts deserve an "up or down vote" apparently. Democrats don't and neither does anyone they don't think is wingnutty enough.
