2. Howard is on CNN...
This is on Hardball right now! He is absolutely misrepresenting the Dems and he doesn't even have a signature on this document. He says a NBC executive gave it to him! It's bullshit.

Peace.

19. Dean just blew his chance. He didn't even ask Tweety
if there was a signature on it.

Peace.

5. Notice he didn't say who the NBC executive was?
Perhaps Tim Russert, Jack Welch, who then?

What's with Ben Nelson, what a wuss!!!

6. There's not even a signature on it!
It was released 17 minutes after the nomination? I find that hard to believe!

Peace.

8. OK, everybody. Let's get busy. No way this thing isn't a plant.
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 05:17 PM by janeaustin
This is a despicable dirty trick and Chris Matthews is a damned tool for going with this bullshit story.

Now, who has written MSNBC asking for either proof or a retraction?

Who has written Tweety?

Who has called or written Hatch?

Who has asked Harry Reid to respond?

Who has asked Howard Dean to respond?

Who has aksed Nancy Pelosi to respond?

That's just six emails or phone calls, and you can cut and paste most of it.

Let's get busy out there and have an effect beyond making each other feel like we're not alone in this.

11. Should we start another thread?
I just think this is too important to let pass. I understand that Orrin Hatch started some "racist" bs this a.m. Is this true? Funny how he was on Tweety's show slamming the dems!

Peace.

12. Tweety was on the tube around noon...
The anchor at MSNBC cut over to him and he started totally LYING about some alleged doc.

Peace

14. Who gives a CRAP - MSNBC has a .2 rating...
SO much energy gets WASTED at DU on these cable news shows that reach 200,000 Americans during the day - most of whom have RIGID political beliefs already.

You are falling into the White House's trap to consume your time on Chris Matthews.

16. Ratings have nothing to do with this.
I wasn't watching Tweety's show. I was channel surfing and I stopped because they were talking about showing Rosa Park's service. Before they did, however, the anchorwoman cut to Chris. It's total defamation. It's unfortunate, but many Americans still think the SOB is credible. I'm not falling into any trap. I am far from gullible and I'm telling you...he had a "Dan Rather" moment. We know what happened to him, right? The guy is waving docs around that aren't even signed!

IMO, it's a golden opportunity to expose the bastard for what he is and what he has been up to.

peace.

18. I disagree.
This is the way the Republican echo chamber works.

Tweety says it three or four times, then AP and all the other news services pick it up and run with it.

It becomes the received wisdom, much like how Gore "invented the internet."

I think we need to quit letting these guys get away with this shit, and I plan to call them on every single one of them.

15. Here's my note to MSNBC
What indication or proof does Matthews have that the paper he calls a "hit sheet" came from Democrats, as he alleges?

That thing came out way too fast for it to be from the Democrats and reeks of typical Republican dirty tricks. Karl Rove's operation is the only one I can think of that comes out with this kind of thing within 17 minutes.

I demand either proof or a clear retraction from Matthews of this hysterical story that probably came from Orin Hatch via Drudge.

I await either proof or a retraction.

Maybe we should let Barbara Boxer know. She'll take care of it.

Thanks for your help in this.

Peace.
