RW'ers are tough on crime, while liberals want to sic all the rapists on your wives and daughters.

This, IMHO, is the most ridiculous shibboleth but listen to ANY right-wing talk host and it's almost MANDATORY that they bring up this point.

First off, who are the people who have been running themselves RAGGED over the long haul to get police and courts to even take rape seriously as a crime? Conservatives? WRONG!

Who are the people you always hear from complaining about hate crime legislation? Bleeding heart liberals? WRONG!

Let's not mention how these folks are in total denial about white-collar crime; for them, these are abominations that violate the spirit of the Good Laissez Fairy. Thus, the appalling lack of nailing in, say, the Union Carbide fiasco in Bhopal.
