TVNL Radio Today: World Government - Taking Away Your Vitamins!
Topic: Losing your freedom to stay healthy in America. If you or anyone you know is ill, takes medication regularly or suffers from any chronic conditions, you should tune in! Tune in and contact information here: http://tvnewslies.org/html/radio_show.html

Guests:
# Kevin Trudeau - Consumer and Natural Health Advocate. Author of Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You To Know About (You’ve seen him on his informercial!)

# Kevin Miller - International award-winning filmmaker Kevin P. Miller of Well TV discussing his new documentary about the threat to medical freedom of choice.

Do you realize that a not so secret government body whose goal it is to protect multinational corporations is concocting global laws that will prevent you from being able to feed yourself nutrients? Your house may soon be raided by federal troops who are looking for vitamin C!

Are you aware that medical professionals criticize the use of nutrients for medical purposes yet the arguments they use to discredit the nutrients are more accurately applied to their own industry?

Did you know that magnesium is used to treat acute asthma attacks in emergency situations? Did you know that a magnesium deficiency often results in asthma becoming more severe and increases the frequency of asthma attacks? Did you know that most asthma medications deplete your body of magnesium resulting in the above mentioned conditions? What else don’t you know about the medicines that you are given?

Did you know that you may soon need a prescription to get magnesium, vitamin C and other nutrients?

I will be discussing these and other issues related to your health and your rights to stay healthy on our radio program today. Do you really think that the companies that earn their fortune on treating your chronic or slowly progressing illness really want you to get better and stop paying you for their medication? Think about it!

3. Wrong - While I Think Trudeau is
not a credible guy. HR1356 is a very serious threat to those of us who rely on supplements.

Dietary Supplement Access & Awareness Act is desighed to deny American's access to supplements.

7. Wow thats alarmist
And quite silly. Their point would be better made if it didn't include the stupid "Your house may soon be raided by federal troops who are looking for vitamin C!" line.

Also, Kevin Trudeau is a fraudster. Plain and simple.

9. Your title is misleading. Vitamins & Minerals are specifically exempt
Although I agree with alt med folks being concerned with giving the Rx company kiss up FDA carte blanche on regulating herbal suppliments, etc using "...Take away your vitamins" is misleading. According to what H.R. 3156 states HERE (bolding mine):
a) Limitation on Applicability- Notwithstanding the other subsections of this section, this section does not apply to any dietary supplement that meets the conditions described in paragraphs (1) and (2), as follows:
`(1) The supplement bears or contains one or more of the following dietary ingredients:
`(A) A vitamin.
`(B) A mineral.
`(C) A concentrate, metabolite, constituent, extract, or combination of any vitamin or mineral.
`(2) The supplement does not bear or contain--
`(A) an herb or other botanical, an amino acid, or a dietary substance for use by man to supplement the diet by increasing the total dietary intake; or
`(B) a concentrate, metabolite, constituent, extract, or combination of any ingredient specified in subparagraph (A).

After reading the whole thing it sounds like the sponsers "intentions" are at least trying to be good with concerns about labeling, etc. I can also sort of see where it might be considered a slippery slope issue by some especially with the FDA being involved and able to ban herbs for what some deem "failed to pass an arbitrary risk/benefit analysis." Admittedly I'm no longer a huge FDA "fan" anyway. I personally wouldn't trust what they say much more then I would the nice yet non-medical folks next door... the FDA has simply been wrong too often and when they are too often it's in a big way IMO.
