He is insulated from reality by his court jesters. I'll bet his TV is blocked so it only gets FAUX, ESPN and cartoons. He doesn't read anything so you don't have to worry about him stumbling across any unfavorable news in the paper. What he does hear is sanitized by his handlers so that his little baby ego will be puffed up enough to not scream at them for a while. Plus his mind is probably permanently altered by whatever prescription (and perhaps non prescription) meds they have him on.
