Well, there's the fifth vote to overturn Roe.
Alito MUST be filibustered. If he gets on the court, Roe is history, and you better damned sure hope you live in a state with a pro-choice Governor and Legislature. If those aren't "special circumstances" enough for the "Gang of 14" to permit a filibuster, then the entire agreement was a sham.

1. I'm thinking he will be.
This guy sounds nuts. Reid, who is anti-abortion himself, called Alito out for his extremism.

2. If they do overturn Roe vs. Wade
It will awaken a lot of people who have been asleep up until now. I think the right wing is too smart for that. They really don't want Roe vs. Wade overturned, they just want their constituents to think they do.

7. I think it might be wise to start stockpiling RU-486
...in the "red states".

Sadly, I think you are right. Despite all the appeals to "family values" and over-turning abortion, I don't think the majority really want to take that step back either.

You have to wonder what would happen if 45 states ended up with legal abortion after RvW is gone, but I don't think we are going to wake people up without a bucket of cold water splashed in their face.

People are just too apathetic and they fall for the most inane shit. That's how the repubs have gotten into power.

3. Incorrect; Stevens, Kennedy, Souter, Ginsberg, and Breyer are all pro-Roe

He is presumably vote number 4.

4. Nonsense.
He will never be approved unless we all lay down.

5. Mr. Burch, I know that, you know that
but we have seen the laying down of people before. You and I both know the bulk of this society lives by the "well that does not affect me now does it" lifestyle. And you and I both know that by the time the sheeple realize it, it is too late. Look at the buyers remorse now.

Even though I am no longer having children, and even though I do not have any daughters or granddaughters, I will join up with Maddy and everyone else to fight this.

6. Did you read the entire thread?
If Alito is not filibustered (ie, "we all lay down"), he will be confirmed. If you discard your slightly snotty post title, we are calling for the same thing.
