Southern Baptists refused to hand out water donated by Anheuser- Busch
http://www.nbc-2.com/articles/readarticle.asp?articleid=4747&z=3&p=

Hurricane victims who wanted water had some difficulty finding it at a relief station in Clewiston Friday. The volunteer group running a supply center doesn't like the company that donated the water, so they decided not to give it to those in line for help.

Twenty-two pallets of the canned water, distributed free by beer company Anheuser-Busch, bears the company's label – and members of the Southern Baptist Convention refused to hand it out to those in need.

The pastor didn't want to hand out the Budweiser cans to people and that's his prerogative and I back him 100-percent," said SBC volunteer John Cook. The SBC felt it was inappropriate to give the donation out, and they weren't happy when NBC2 wanted to know why.
No one disagrees with that, but the Red Cross says Anheuser-Busch is also trying to help.

The water has been available all along, but the SBC volunteers set it aside and few people knew it was available. While the SBC is standing its ground, the Red Cross says water is water and they're now handing out the supplies.

7. They were afraid Satan would turn the water into beer in peoples' mouths
And they have a point. It is better that people die of thirst, than take a chance on wickedness.

Sarcasm.

9. Where do I get in line...
to stoke the fires of hell for "the pastor" and John Cook?

They should be sent to prison for refusing to give aid when they had the capacity to do so.

14. Admirable stance. Hold your beliefs and none can call you hypocrite. . .
That said, why did they accept the water in the first place? Why not pass on it and let others distribute it, tainted though you may feel it to be? Protect your honor at all costs, let the devil take the hindmost, but don't compromise your values by accepting the unacceptable and thus denying it to those with lesser beliefs than yours.

Who are any of us to pass judgment on those we do not know?

After all, it was a sinner who anointed Christ's feet with oil and a sinner who washed them with tears, and a sinner who took him from the cross and prepared him for the tomb.

The people at SBC would do well to read the very book they profess to love.

17. I SO wish...
I SO wish Jesus comes back right now --- brandishing thunderbolts, fire & brimstone for these people who pervert everything he taught (and insist on cramming it down the rest of our throats.) Jesus can start with that beacon of "Christian" love & poverty, Pat Robertson. Jesus needs to save us all from his followers!!!

18. It's been said of some people that they're so heavenly minded....
...that they're no earthly good, which is clearly the case with these idiots.

Pray over the water, bless it, and give it to the thirsty. What's wrong with your dumb @$$, anyway?

Then the King will tell those on his right hand,'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, saying,'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'

"The King will answer them,'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Matthew 25
