Duberstein on Meet the Whore: "Far right doesn't want to be satisfied"
Duberstein, a Reagan administration official nailed it today- the far right doesn't want nominees that meet their requirements. He said that Reagan understood this and didn't always give them their way, because these groups need the "outrage" to raise money.

Wow- when Republicans deviate off the talking points, sometimes they come up with a real nugget of truth. It kind of goes along with "What's the Matter with Kansas", talking about the judiciary allows the right to raise money demonizing those omnipotent liberals.

1. I believe Lush RimRam has said this too - his "big theory"
Edited on Sun Oct-30-05 11:00 AM by ourbluenation
that they "let" the dems have there big social programs, etc, so that it pisses off the right and gets them out to vote.

2. I actually enjoyed listening to MTP this AM.
All three of those guests did a good job.

They all had the same recommendations for Shrub too. Clean houose, appologize to the American people, and MAYBR he can come back like Carter, Reagan, and Clinton did.

They also all agreed that Shrub probably will not, and that will mean the rest of his Presidency is dead.

6. But isn't he liberal?
He must be, he works for the NY Times, right? With those other two known liberals David Brooks and Judith Miller.:sarcasm:

9. I think he's hiding. Time wise, he stepped out a little too conveniently.

8. Hee-hee, har-har. The Right are such funny people.
Remember how they went about breaking the opposition to welfare? They said that the Left was against reform because they wanted to keep people poor and on welfare so they'll keep voting Democratically. But, I don't think that a high percentage of welfare recepients are super voters, are they?

So, Duberstein's appraisal of the Right is probably dead on. Everything is upside down for them.

10. That's pretty close to the truth
If they actually did all the things they say they want to do like overturn Roe v Wade and ban gay marriage they have no more red meat to throw to the dumshits and they'd have to run on their true platform which is take everyones money and give it to the very wealthy. They really don't give a shit about things like faith based institutions or family values they only use them as buzzwords to attract stupido-Americans to vote for them.

11. Also, once the religious right got what they wanted, they would...
probably stop voting altogether. It takes something like abortion or gay marriage to get many people in the religious right to go to the polls.

12. Yes! But do you suppose . . .
the average Joe in the pew gets this? He really thinks gay marriage will bring about the end of civilization! That abortion causes hurricanes! Do you suppose the RW even thinks for a minute what their propaganda is leading to?
