How about Fitzgerald for nomination to SCOTUS?

I know it isn't in cards, Bush would rather see him disbarred, but its a nice thought. Actually doubt Fitzgerald would want the job. He appears comfortable in his current element and is certainly adept at it.

I can't remember where I read what. No, he wouldn't want it. He says he's already come farther in life than he expected to. I just want him to keep doing what he's doing and fighting the good fight. For all of us.

yesterday and the thread died a lonely death.

The thing I think is most appealing about him in terms of a SCOTUS nomination is what so many people have said about him and his "love of the law". He's quite dedicated and, as far as I can see, no politics, no religion and no pre-conceived philosophy (e.g. Leo Strauss)get in his way in interpreting the law.

He is also painstakingly thorough and doesn't make "rash judgements".
