Kansans are WAKING UP>>>a snapshot of people's opinions...

Harriet Miers' downfall was in referring to George W. Bush as the most brilliant man she knew. It was all downhill from that moment.

• • •

It was interesting to see how the conservatives went rabid on Miers. All these months I thought it was the Democrats who were being blamed for not giving someone an up-or-down vote.

• • •

The victory of the Chicago White Sox in the World Series was made even sweeter because my beloved White Sox beat the Houston Astros on their own turf and in front of George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. Seeing their stunned faces was the cherry on top of the sundae.

Phill Kline is the single biggest reason Kansas is considered the laughingstock of the United States around the country and the world. A close second is the State Board of Education.

• • •

Thank goodness George Bush and the Republicans in Congress gave billions in tax breaks and incentives to the oil companies having so much trouble struggling with the burden of record profits. It's good to know our government cares about those in need.

was impressed by Patrick Fitzgerald's press conference. How sad that common sense, conviction and straightforward truth sound so uncommon.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal," unless this administration declares you can be tortured.

The Rev. Terry Fox's comment about Harriet Miers withdrawing her Supreme Court nomination was quite disturbing to me. Who is he to state that she was the wrong person? Does he know Miers personally?
