Anyone just see Pat Robertson on with Aaron Brown?
Talking about Harriet Miers. First he says something sensible: if John Roberts' Catholocism was off limits as a basis for his being qualified or not, then Harriet Miers' evangelicism should also be off limits. Agreed.

Then he goes back into Totally Stupid Mode, when Janet Rogers Brown's name came up: she's black, she a woman, she's the daughter of a sharecropper. "I can't imagine Ted Kennedy beating up on a black woman. On a white man, yes, but not a black woman."

Grrrrrr! I like seeing women and minorities get opportunities just like white people, but saying someone is off limits because they are black and/or female -- that's such a bunch of crap! I want to know if someone is qualified, not if they wear a dress or can identify themselves as a minority. If you aren't qualified, you aren't!

Shut up, Pat! :grr:

To his credit, when Pat made the comment about Ted Kennedy not beating up on a black woman (figuratively, not literally), Aaron Brown said, "I wouldn't be so sure about that!"

1. Roberston also refered to Miers as a good trial attorney but
I believe I seen reports that she barely had any trial experience either, mostly settled out of court. If I'm right too bad Aaron didn't call him on it.

3. I must have been briefly distracted by DU when he said that.
Overall, Aaron has been doing some good smackdowns tonight, though.

2. I don't believe in making fun of retarded people
I usually won't watch Pat Roberton on television because I don't think the news media should be prostituting retarded people to make freak shows.

4. I usually don't listen to or watch him either.
I had been reading the DU forums at the time he came on, and just kind of became aware of it. His remark about Roberts' Catholocism and Mier's evangelicism was what caught my ear, and as I said in my OP, I thought, well, good on him for that. Then, of course, he went back to true form.....

8. Why is he still able
to go on these programs when he wanted to asssinate a sitting democratically elected president?

5. Pat Robertson? What a joke
Most see him as an eccentric right winger wacko who made millions off those he suckered in with his hatred against gays.

Brown should know if has this quality (or lack of) guest, that his ratings will further drop.

9. Bush was the one who made Miers religion an issue
He said it was one of the main reasons he picked her. He thought it would be enought to get her in and make everyone ignore the fact that she's a dope.
