Clark could win the primary with a western strategy
I see him saving resources if he focuses his campaigning more west of the Mississippi, particularly NM and AZ on Feb 3, and CA on March 2.

It will be very hard for him to compete as well in NY and New England, but he could, I beleive balance that out in the west, so if him and one of the New England candidates are left after March 2, he can have the knockout punch on the 9th with all of the southern primaries.

3. right, but he should continue that after Feb 3 with a California plan
sometime in Mid Febuary In California, he should announce a big proposal, like a huge reform of illegal drug policy, not decriminalization but an end to mandatory minimums, legalization of medicinal marjijuana etc., right before the 24th, the day of the Utah and Idaho primaries.

2. Edwards
If Clark falters Edwards will do well among moderate voters that are now backing Clark. Only one of them will survive after the Tenessee and Virginia primaries and the winner will probably become the alternative to Kerry. He needs to eliminate Edwards and vice versa. Niether can win the nomination if they split the Southern and moderate vote.

6. That's what cost Gephardt Iowa, IMO.
The thought that if you don't win a state, you're out, scares off voters. They want to back a winner, which is why people are flocking to Kerry after Iowa and now NH.

IMO, bad call to say any state is a must-win. To his credit, I've only heard Edwards say, "But we WILL win South Carolina." That's a better message.

5. but he's also splitting the hard anti-war vote with Dean and vets w/ Kerry

8. People in the West are smarter
than normal folks. (Yes there are exceptions - jeesh). But what I'm saying is he'll get way more love out here than he would in and around the Beltway.
