Ted Kennedy is asking for our questions for Miers
http://www.tedkennedy.com/page/petition/miers

Ask Miers Your Question

Harriet Miers and the White House remains unwilling to discuss her views or her understanding of the Constitution. Before the hearings begin, Americans need to know the huge uncertainty that exists about her views and qualifications.

We must show the country that despite the lack of any realistic record on Harriet Miers, Americans still have questions that need to be answered by her before the Senate votes on her nomination.

Please take a moment now and ask a question of Harriet Miers you believe he should he should answer.

1. Here's mine:
Do you really think George W. Bush is the "most brilliant man you ever met" or are you just a compulsive ass-kisser?

3. My Question for Miers:
When was the Epiphany?: "George Bush is the most intelligent person I know." I believe this must be explained. It defies logic.
I know 4 year olds who can make sentences of more than 4 words without looking at notes or pausing to gather new words.

4. My question:
How would you describe the role of the Supreme Court in American Government and what major SC decisions reflect that role?

6. That's a great question
Should have her spluttering all over the place.

I would ask her if she believes in the 14th Amendment. Then I would ask her if any US citizen should be excluded from the rights afforded by it, in her opinion.

I would also ask her if she agrees with Karen Hughes that the Constitution dictates that we are 'one nation under God' and how she interprets that.

She already made a fool of herself on a Constitutional question regarding privacy, although to be honest, I liked her answer. It seemed to show that she believes in a right to privacy, which is good. Still, a woman who wants to be a SC justice, should be familiar with the Constitution, I think.

Oh, and I would also ask her if she is responsible for giving Jeff Gannon his press card.

15. From Bob Parks weekly "What's New" (science) newsletter:
http://bobpark.physics.umd.edu/index.html

SUPREME QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE NOMINEE'S VIEWS ON SCIENCE?
Our request for questions that should be asked of Supreme Court nominees to elicit their views on science drew a huge response. Traditionally, nominees are not questioned about their religious views on the assumption that an oath to uphold the constitution makes the nominee's religious views irrelevant. Science, which bases judgements solely on the evidence, is the antithesis of religion and is clearly relevant. The WN staff felt the question that best captured the consensus of our readers' views in the fewest number of words was from Abi Soffer at SLAC:

"How does being descended from a monkey affect your judicial philosophy?"

18. Same stuff he asked Roberts
Does she believe in civil rights, voting rights, and the validity of the acts that ensure them?

Does she believe in a woman's right to choose and exercise autonomy over her body?

Does she believe in the principle of stare decisis, let the decision stand?

Does she expect to see and/or talk to the President on a daily or frequent basis?

Does she wish to continue with the nomination process, or is she doing so at the insistence of Mr. Brilliance? :sarcasm:
