Tom Gallagher, running for Gov, appearing with JEB! at Wilma briefings...
Edited on Sun Oct-23-05 01:52 PM by flpoljunkie
Interesting. Gallagher is the state's Chief Financial Officer, and to my memory, did not appear at any of the briefings for last year's triple hurricane onslaught--Charlie, Florence, and Jeanne.

Jeb's way of showing preference for Tom Gallagher over Attorney General Charlie "Chain Gang" Crist?

Gallagher has evidently morphed from being considered a political moderate--before he recently married and began his quest for the governor's mansion in Tallahassee--and has been mentioned as the preferred candidate of the religious right in Florida.

1. CFO Also Insurance Commissioner
in Florida. So, it could have something to do with that. OR it could be a preference.

Not sure where Gallagher was during the whole Schiavo thing, but I know Crist was silent, which many felt was curious for an Attorney General.

4. There is no need for insurance commish to appear at Wilma briefings.
Perhaps afterward, when folks are looking to have their insurance agents file their claims in a timely fashion.

When you fly into Orlando, there are still blue tarps on roofs that can be seen for miles and miles from last year's triple hurricane onslaught.

A largely untold story that there are a goodly number of folks on West Florida coast still living in FEMA trailers and unable to rebuild or repair their homes, or build new homes, if old home destroyed.

5. Trust Me, I Live In Orlando
I see those blue tarps driving around town, including in my own neighborhood.

I see the shredded pool enclosures, the destroyed utility sheds, the downed fences and the blank patches of yard where it is obvious a tree once stood.

2. What's the Jebster gonna do?
Is he not running for re-election?

He's not delusional enough to think his presidential aspirations will survive the Coward's ineptitude, is he?

3. Well Jebbie got it wrong last year
with Charley and I have this feeling this will hit Central Florida well above Naples so he and Gallagher better be careful about bragging too much re organization.
