2005 Int'l Commission of Inquiry
Not surprisingly, I guess, there doesn't seem to have been any coverage of sessions held last night and this morning of the 2005 international Commission of Inquiry on Crimes Against Humanity Committed by the Bush Administration were held in New York City. It is sponsored by The Not in Our Name Statement of Conscoence. I'm hoping that Democracy Now or other "alternative" media will cover it next week. Were any DUers there? I went to the session last night, and I was very impressed by the presentation, which included statements by Michael Ruppert, Howard Zinn and Ann Wright, a veteran of the army who resigned after the beginning of the war. There are four indictments very well sited, against specific members of the Bush Crime Family.

Last night's session included the Prosecutor's opening statement on Torture and Detention presented by Barbara Olshanky of the Center of Constitutional Rights. Although we all know what atrocities have been done in our name by this administration, it was still shocking to hear them described.

There will be a second session in January and I really recommend that people attend it. As Howard Zinn said, it is up to the citizens of this country to stop this administration. This commission is one of the ways to try to make ourselves heard.
