All Hell is gonna break lose next week,
I cannot tell you how much I hope I am wrong here. I really do.

I think so many decent people will get consumed.

Get the hell out of equities, right now. I think you may have a few hours monday to do so.

Let the republicans count the losses.

This is the worst chart I have ever seen in my life.

For God's sake, be careful here.

Joe

12. My husband trades stocks and he reads their graphic charts to
look for clues when to buy, when to sell. Anyway, he has been doing it for so long that he speaks about all things in life as the chart. I think he means that the indicators are negative when the proverbial shit hits the fan next week which could be bad for the stock market. For the record--this guy is not my husband but he sure as heck talks like him. LOL

ps-If he is like my John he studies the Dow and Nasd. indicator charts EVERY DAY.

16. Fair,
About an hour before the close yesterday, I say the djia start to fold - in line at the bank. I got back and turned on the computer. About an hour before close yesterday and two hours into opening this day it went straight down. Like a dive off a cliff - and it had volume, strong volume. There is NO upside volume. All down.

And there was no tick to it - just down.

I saw this in 1987. This is so much stronger. I read Prichter. God, I cannot tell you how much I hope this is wrong. It foretells, a total liquidity crisis - Prichters formula.

I do hate that SOB Bush - but not like this. I have many friends who will get killed next week. No, not like this. I will spend this weekend on the phone. Maybe I'm wrong. I have never prayed so much to be wrong as this weekend.

JOe

I think he's talking about robert prechter(sp)...

prechter has been predicting the next depression since 1986, according to a friend of mine who was hooked on prechter for ten years.

he'll be right someday. butr i have personally seen two previous fire alarm
e-mails from prechter urging people the time has come to get out.

17. i can't speak to the OP. but to me...
these facts:

1) we (U.S.) have to sell $2 Billion (yeah, thats a B) a day in T-Bills to China, Japan, South Africa, etc...just to stay liquid

2) Oil is $60+ BBL and gold is only $460+/oz

3) Refco, GM, Tyco, Enron, Ford, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, Amtrack, Arthur Anderson, HMO's etc etc etc...

4) Syria, Lebanon, Iran

5 (in a class all by itself) Venezueala

6) did i mention China and Japan?

if those items alone don't make you get out of equities...well, god (from an atheist) help ya'

but then, i am of the mind that the dollar is going to collapse. If you aren't of the same mind...well then, do what suits ya'.

19. I'm not saying we are going to be in a cyclical bull indefinitely...
Edited on Fri Oct-21-05 08:35 PM by Clarkie1
but we will be in the near term (talking months, not necessarily years).

Then there will be cyclical bear.

Overall we are in a very long-term bear market (10-15 years).
"Buy and hold" indefinitely (5 years+, for example) makes no sense in this environment. However, the cyclical bull which began in March of 2003 still has room for more expansion, and all the indicators are positive.

myself, i'm in gold for the short term (physical, not stock)...
the shit is ready to break...and soon. we have reached the tipping point. it might be this year, might be next year, who knows.

but no nation, empire, corporation, conglomerate, commune, etc can continue to spend $2 Billion (yes, thats a B) a Day (yes, that's 24 hour period) more than it takes in and be a "continuing enterprise".

15. I don't see your chart
but from the ones that I have studied you are right that we will likely be going down hard til at least mid December. There are bearish crossovers on all the indices in all time frames, daily, weekly and yearly. Worse since '00. It also looks like this is a correction not a change in long term bias. It may feel like hell but right now it looks like it will go up after this is over. Things could change and maybe it won't. Time will tell.

42. Link to some charts: I don't see this day or week being very unusual
if you look at their chart that you can go back to the beginning of the year to see the Dow Jones Industrial Avg as well as average volume of sales.

http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow/

I have heard this before however, the idea of investing in gold or foreign currency.
