Let's give Kerry credit -- he kicked butt in Iowa and NH !
That said, I do not think anyone is yet ready to give him the nomination, at least not Dean, Edwards, or Clark. They're going to have to see more cards laying on the table before they fold. If they were playing 5-card stud, Kerry would have an Ace up and a hole card. Dean would have a King up and a hole card. Edwards and Clark would both have Jacks up with a hole card. They still have 3 cards each to draw. It's way too early to fold.

But with that Ace up on the table, wins in Iowa and NH, the odds are in his favor at this moment. Let's not minimize the hand he is holding. He has done great since he was written off in NH just a few weeks ago. Things can change overnight, as we all well know, but let's give him credit for two impressive victories.

1. Great card analogy!
That really paints the picture as it is very well.

4. Let's give the credit where it's due
to the Democratic Party insiders and powere brokers who are so threatened by the idea of a candidate who can make it without their support that they have thrown everything they can muster into the campaign of someone who was off the radar a month ago.

6. Obviously not off the radar
most voters don't even pay attention or pick a candidate until January.

8. I can't imagine Kerry drawing to an inside straight
or making other dumb blunders... he is too experienced a politician for that. And with the momentum he has, and no campaign limits, he will be able to place some heavy bets when he needs to...

9. Through March 2, at least, it's going to be...
An interesting ride, indeed. i really don't think it's going to be settled before "Super Tuesday", if then. But hold onto your hats, and seats, for the next month! :D

The five months of 1992's primary ride will be compressed by the "front-loaded" schedule into six to eight weeks. But what a six or eight weeks it's liable to be...

I just pray that, when it's all over but the shouting, we still manage to remember what all those "exit polls" have consistently shown us thusfar: voters, above all else, just want someone whom they feel can BEAT DUB in November. Don't believe it? Then look at the total votes on the REPUB side in N.H.; the top five Dem. candidates--plus Al Sharpton--got votes, in some cases, a few hundred, as "write-ins" opposite Dub. Some poll-watchers noted that when registered Repubs came up to the polling place and were told they couldn't vote in the Dem. primary, they angrily handed back their Repub primary ballots and walked away. I take it that not ALL of them were trying to do so merely to "screw up" our primary outcome!

And, while we aren't noticing, Dub's litterally "tanking" himself. Even right-wing columnists/ media whores like Andrew Sullivan are starting to question Dub's perception of reality...now, THAT'S pretty bad! Let's upset "Chip" Rove even more and make sure we notice--and, politically at least, take full advantage of Dub's renewed bought with instability. After all, hasn't he been taking advantage of US for over three years now!?

:kick:

B-)

10. He kicked some nasty, ugly butt all right --
He went ugly. He used the same tools employed by Bush to derail McCain. This is nothing to be proud about.

13. I give him credit
He fought a fight back from death and lived. If he holds up after March 2, I'll call him the frontrunner. If he gains the nomination, I will vote for him, no problem.

19. He hasn't faced front-runner scrutiny and he's had Gephardt, Lieberman,
Kucinich, Sharpton and the media to do his dirty work for him.
