FRIST'S "investigator"??
Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 01:24 PM by mzteris
". . .an HCA spokesman disclosed today that the company has been subpoenaed by the office of Michael Garcia, U.S. Attorney for the southern district, which includes New York City. HCA said the summons asks it to hand over documents likely related to Frist's stock sale, and that the company will fully cooperate with all requests.

Garcia, who has been on the job for less than a month, previously served in several high-level positions in the Department of Homeland Security and the Commerce Department."

Garcia was appointed on OCT 7th!!!

N700 DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
Michael J. Garcia, of New York, to be United States Attorney for the
Southern District of New York for the term of four years.

Granted he was in this same department prior to this - 1992 - 2001 - but he was "Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Michael J. Garcia" http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/garciam-bio.html since then - now suddenly bounced back to that district - coincidentally JIT to "investigate" Frist's scandal??

Does this smell to anyone else??

1. why yes, it does -- and if i were Frist, this wouldn't comfort me
sure, this judge is a crony -- but with cronyism comes ineptitude. nothing like a ruling riddled with holes.

3. Yes, it does stink, but Frist's goose is pretty well cooked,
politically speaking, so he probably won't be much trouble in the future. At least I'm hoping that's the case. Maybe he will become as righteous as he claims to be in his book, "Good People Begat Good People" or some such nonsensical title. The reviews on amazon.com are hysterical--better than the book, though, truthfully, I never read it. But one can imagine...

4. Let's hope.
But I put nothing past this administration. It just makes me a little suspicious as to the timing of this guy to handle the investigation into Frist, ya know?

5. It does stink, but this seems like a pretty clear cut case of insider
trading and innapropriate conflict of interest.

6. Clear to us
certainly. But if they can find a way to make it "go away" - I'm sure they will.

Although it seems as if they're about to implode! (hope hope - we need a crossed fingers smilie!)
