What is the delegate count right now?
Delegates are the thing to pay attention to because ultimatly, they are what chooses our nominee.

What could the delegate count look like after next week's round of primaries?

8. hey, anyone notice CNN is missing Missouri..
..i wonder if Dean received support from the super delegates and CNN doesnt want that to slant anyone's view. And why doesn't FOX and MSNBC report these counts, rather than saying "But does Howard Dean have the money to go on?" crap.

5. Your CNN count is correct
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 01:47 PM by Stuckinthebush
It includes superdelegates who have already pledged their support.

6. When do you have to win
a state by? Can Dean go without winning next week and wait until some other state primaries come up, by still winning some delegates along the way?

7. In theory, yes
It would be a really really bad strategy.

Dean's problem is that superdelegates are not committed to him except by vague promise. The delegates you win in a state our yours until the end of the first ballot without question.

9. Am I the only one who doesn't like this 'superdelegate' business?
Why do they get so much influence? Do they alone decide whom to support, or do they represent a group?
