Grill Miers on Bush's Role in the Plame Case...
While she is under oath, ask pointed questions about what he knew, when he knew it and who else was involved. If she is the stalwart cronie that we are used to seeing come out of this admin., she will lie, ie. perjure herself.

I have posted this idea before and was re-buffed because we know that when they circle the wagons, the president will never be touched- but this is not the goal. If she perjures herself, she, as a federal judge, will be subject to impeachment and removal. Then we have an opening on the court- hopefully with a Dem whitehouse.

1. She will simply say that there is an ongoing criminal investigation
and I can't talk about it. No perjury there.

2. Her hearings will take place after Oct 28.
The indictments will be in place and a lawyers communications are not priveledged if they involve covering up a crime.

3. Would not Ms. Miers be in the thick of every sin of omission & commission
committed by this Administration? Why not question her on all these.

4. Good idea, but just exactly who will do this? Not the same democrats
that voted for Roberts after his contemptuous responses to Demo questioning. NOt Harry Reid, he loves Meirs.

5. I believe that we should ask enough questions to have
an extensive record that can be checked against other testimony in the case. Any perjury by Miers should be kept as a trump card for the future.

If the "fundies" are right and she is a centrist pragmatist- no worries. If she is a right wing kook, we have ammo to remove her.

6. My point was, who will do this??? The Demo senators have been reluctant
to be hard-lined. They have lost every battle. Harry Reid loves Meirs and will not encourage tough questioning. I agree with you, but the Demo senators have disappointed me time and again. 22 friggin votes for Roberts. What the hell is that all about?
