2. That's because he "talks like a regular guy."
If by "regular guy," you mean a drug-addled, gin-soaked, dyslexic moron who likes to play dress-up.

26. I can converse with most of the "regular guys" I know...
... except that guy in town - the one who pushes a shopping cart loaded with luggage and wears 6 wristwatches on each hand, that is. His conversations with the fire hydrant are usually evocative of a Bush news conference.

I'd rather have a President who makes up in substance what he lacks in style rather than vice versa.

20. I only wish substance trumps...as we found out in the past 2 elections
its not always....

Gore and Kerry may not be the wisest of the bunch...but when compared to Bush...light years ahead....as evidenced by the recent cronyism revelations and SCOTUS nominations.

Bush is not a UNITER in any sense of the word...more like a divider.

25. one man can't unite
It takes two to tango. It also takes two to unite. If I may ask, do you really want to be united behind Bush, or united behind a different President of a more Democratic-party persuasion? Because if you don't want to unite behind Bush, it's kinda unfair to accuse him of not being a uniter. Just a thought.

28. Right. We should unite behind someone who serves only the rich..
We should all join with Bush as he takes us to war on lies, borrows and spends like there is no tomorrow, and serves only the rich. Where do your loyalties lie, with your party or with your Nation? Open your eyes and join the people who are loyal to the USA. Look at what Bush is doing to your country. You are being lied to.

Yesterday on the Limbaugh show, Cheney said he was trying to bury all Democrats. Yep, that's some outstanding, unifying leadership coming from the White House.

Bush says we are fighting for our freedom in Iraq. Do you believe that? If so ...

www.goarmy.com

The Army is facing a serious recruiting crisis. Why not do what your Great Leader urges and volunteer for the military?

This liberal infantry vet has been called back to active duty. I will do what Bush and Cheney didn't do. Show up and do my duty.

40. a little beside the point
But the point I was trying to make was, do Democrats (namely, politicians) want to unite behind this guy, or do they enjoy the division between Republicans and Democrats because it gives them somthing to gripe about, and something to keep their constituents angry?

Too often, the same people bemoaning the division in the country are milking that divison for the betterment of their own political career and party. They cheer when bad news befalls the President and downplay good news, a behavior that doesn't seem very united to me. It seems to put party before country.

Like I said before, it takes two to tango, and the same people advocating unity wouldn't pee on Bush if he were on fire.

And by the way, I've been told often that if I agree with the war that I should go fight it. But to be fair, if you don't agree with the war, then go fight against it. It's only fair.

31. Look at Freeperland or any other board frequented by rabid Busheep.
Many of these people are truly illiterate, stupid, incoherent sheep.

And I believe they honestly love the fact that their pResident is every bit as dumb as they are.

Look at how the same people despised Bill Clinton, who may have well been one of the most intelligent men to ever occupy the White House.

Look at how they despise education, from kindergarten to "liberal" colleges everywhere.

They really believe the stupid should inherit the earth.

41. He makes them feel better about themselves.
The mouth-breather Bush supporters out there figure that if a complete no-talent loser like Boy George can be president, then maybe there's hope for them too.

What they're missing, of course, is that the only reason that a failure like GWB got as far as he did was wealthy, powerful, well-connected parents. Take that away, & what's left?
