IWR, No Child Left Behind, Patriot Act, Tax Cuts for the Rich
Do these things no longer matter?

How can we challenge Bush on these issues if we nominate someone who voted for ALL of them????

I don't understand why we are willing to give up being able to fight Chimpy on 4 of the most important issues to us.

Can someone help me to understand the rationale for this?

2. Perceptions of Electability
The Buzz from CNN was that Democrats want Bush out. That is The Issue. If elections are based on policy issues, why was the 2000 election close enough to steal? We had 8 years of peace and prosperity, but almost 50% of the people voted for Bush. Go figure.

Like it or not, Kerry is connecting with the voters. And the voters are deciding that he is the best candidate to beat Bush and hopefully motivate the electorate to vote in Democrats in the House/Senate. People like a winner and John is winning. That's an issue that people relate to.

Big voter turnout, too. People are angry.....they perceive Kerry as the man that can defeat the Republican money machine. While there may be candidates in the race that have stronger positions on various issues, they'll settle for a Democratic President who can fix the mess that Dimson and friends have made.

3. The problem with that rosey little scenario.
If you kept casting your vote for the current policies, you obviously see nothing wrong with them and you're unlikely to change them if you get into office.
