When his Dad was President, GW worked with Lee Atwater. It's hard to imagine that he didn't get some schooling in dirty tricks from that experience.

I tend to think that Bush is more involved with this sort of thing than most realize... It wouldn't surprise me at all to find he was a 100% insider.

there is no way, IMHO, Bush didn't know about this. Bush, as shown in his role in Poppy's campaign, shows he has a mean, vindictive streak about him, too. whoever the source is must have made a deal that this would be the way the news broke, in which case this is being used as a setup or as cover for something.
