Clark/ Dean "scandal"
this he said she said bullshit has been well-known for a while
Dean mentioned the consideration, Clark didn't want to talk about it.
nobody was lying.

that said, i think the reason for this to hit the media is b/c:
1. they hope it will remove Clark from Dean's VP slot by making them call each other liars (bad blood)
2. they realize that a Dean/ Clark ticket would be very difficult for Bush to overcome (so they want to prevent it)

6. GOD, I HATE JUDY WOODRUFF!!!
They are just trying to start something. Dean has said already like three times that when asked "Out of the other nominees who would you like as your VP?" he said that Clark was on his short list, and that he had nothing but respect for the General.

Fuck the Medis whores they are just TRYING to divide Dems.

3. It is bad strategy for either of them
Dean can't look cocky and so self-assured as to be offering something he doesn't yet have. Plus, he knows that with a year to go, he simply cannot carry someone else's potential baggage. What if some dirt comes up on Clark? It would be good for Dean...unless Clark is part of the Dean Campaign.

Most of the same goes for Clark, with this difference...Clark is a warrior, a fighter, a take-no-prisoners kinda guy. He has built his reputation on that. And, he is a man who sets his eyes on the prize, and goes for it. It makes no sense for him to now acknowledge that he'd be willing to play second fiddle to anyone. What kind of warrior is that? It would be seen as a slap by most of his supporters...it just wouldn't make any sense, politically.

And therein lies the problem...Clark just shouldn't have opened his mouth yet. I believe both Clark and Dean are telling the truth, to some degree of legal nitpicking distinction which serves them both.

Don't sweat it. More importantly, don't allow the republicans tell you you should sweat it!

4. No
The reason it's being mentioned now is to stop the Dean campaign from spreading the idea in order to bolster the Dean campaign. I don't see how Clark could not have put a stop to this, he's running for the nomination against Dean, and running for president, and not running for VP.

7. That's my assessment too
While Dean himself might not be pushing the "Clark as VP" meme, a lot of his supporters are. My response remains, if you want somebody with Clark's credentials on the ticket, vote for Clark. Don't expect to get it by voting for Dean, because you won't.

5. This is so trivial
yet being hyped so the stations can get "something personal" going between Clark and Dean to jazz up their reports and get away from the real issues.

The interpretation/misinterpretation of one conversation cannot begin to compare with the interpretation/misinterpretation of CIA info prior to pre-emption.

Why isn't anyone on the shows (Carville included) showing how lame this is?

8. I have always thought
That a Dean- Clark ticket would be great. I also think a Dean-Edwards or A Dean Graham ticket could be a winner.

Looks like the media whores are in full attack mode to try to suppress the vote.
