Bloody Bush's Iraq War "Tower" of Death reaches Earth's Stratosphere
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 08:28 AM by npincus
I'd like to depict the carnage Bloody Bush has wrought by this "elective" war in a way that can bring it home differently than just reciting numbers.

WHAT IF one were to pile the bodies of the men, women, children, soldiers- Iraqi, American and others- of this obscene Iraq folly- in one pile or "tower". (For those who argue that many dead were victims of terrorists or insurgents- the criteria for this body count is HUMANS WHO WOULD STILL BE ALIVE if Bush had not launched this war)

ASSUMING (numbers approximate) 100,000 dead Iraqis and 2,000 dead Americans and 1,000 dead "Coalition of the Willing"/foreign service employees/ volunteers/ UN workers/ contractors...

ASSUMING an "average" body thickness of 9 inches (thickest point- waist, chest or rear end)

HOW HIGH would this Tower of Bloody Bush's victims rise? High as Chicago's Sears Tower? Or the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia? Or Mount Everst? NO.

All the bodies of Bush's war, stacked together, would reach 14.6 MILES (26 km.) above the Earth. What does this mean? It means Bloody Bush's Tower of Death reaches past the layer of the atmosphere where we live, into the stratosphere.

http://www.ucar.edu/learn/1_1_2_2t.htm

"Over 99% of the mass of the earth's atmosphere is contained in two layers: the troposphere and the stratosphere. Most of the earth's atmosphere (80 to 90%) is found in the troposphere, the atmospheric layer where we live. This layer, where the earth's weather occurs, is within about 12 km (7 miles) of the earth's surface. The stratosphere goes up to about 53 km (29 miles). Gravity is the reason the atmosphere is more dense closer to the earth's surface.

This activity demonstrates the relative thickness of the thin layer that includes the troposphere and stratosphere. This layer is essential to all life on earth."

Certainly, these numbers and measures are approximate, so perhaps the actual height of Bush's Bloody Tower is off by a mile. This amount of preventable death and misery and loss is staggering and still, incomprehensible. If Bush does not deserve to be brought to the Hague for his War Crimes in initiating a war of choice based on fabrications then the whole system is a JOKE.

DUers, please correct my casualty numbers if you have the info.

Lurking Freepers, FUCK YOU and your LEADER.

2. If stacked from head to toe would they reach the moon?
Maybe this is Chimp's plan on how to get to Mars.

4. And you could have Lynndie England doing the "Vanna White" bit
of turning the numbers as they grow . . .

5. I can't fathom why so many people still support this war
I can only hope the reason is they aren't dealing with the awful realities and are just tuned out to them, and not that they are sadists or sociopaths. So, perhaps putting the horror in a form they can wrap their minds around might shake up some dull brains.

I've onsidered comparing amount of blood in the human body with Olympic-size pools; how many has the Murderous Chimp filled to date? Sounds weird, but I think some people don't quite comprehend the cruelty of this war and their own passive endorsement of it by doing nothing and voting Republican.
