The Right Wing Malicious Assault is in full bloom tonight.
Let me start by saying that I have an hour drive to and from work. I am not real big on music, so I listen to talk radio. Here in Texas, unless you are listening really late at night, all you hear is RW fanatical talk shows.
Man, we all know that this is going to be a tough fight and that things will get ugly. However, even with this knowledge, I was amazed and to be honest, depressed, by the unbelievable viciousness I heard tonight. Between Savage and Gallagher, it was unreal.

Kerry is now, of course, a prime target. During the 1 hour ride home, I heard him compared to Hitler, called a communist, accused of marrying Theresa because of her money, referred to as having the intelligence of a 4th grade retarded person, accused of racism and had his service in Vietnam ridiculed. There was more, but thank God for brain farts, I seem to have forgotten the rest of the vitriol.

Of course, the other candidates, except Lieberman, were also fair game. I won't go into the comments about Dean, Edwards and Clark, because they were pretty much in the same vein. However, I am already appalled that they are making fun of the wives of these candidates. Savages slam on Mrs Edwards almost made me drive my car off the road.

We are in for it now. We will have to be made of steel to make it through November, and when the Dems win in November, they will start on our Dem candidate just like they did Clinton.

Sorry for the rant, but this really made me crazy.

2. Late night talk radio in Texas............
what else would you expect? They're not going to be discussing the newest fashion trends. The militia nuts are up all night watching for the impending invasion of NATO troops on US soil, they need something to do while on patrol. The night belongs to them, well I guess the daytime does as well. It's that "Liberal Media" you know. :eyes:

3. Hang in there and remember
We are Democrats, the salt of the earth. I like the way Guy James puts it, you've heard the right, now all that is left is the truth.

7. The more they speak, the better we know them
that's the real beauty of freedom of the press, it lets everyone know exactly where people are coming from.

I hope they keep it up, everybody will be sick of them for decades.

9. Just tune in to some classic rock.
Some Beatles, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Doors, Jefferson Starship and Fleetwood Mac should help you pass the time. Oh, and the Stones, for sure!

Happy listening!

10. Heh. Those adjectives they described Kerry as...
fit well with Dubya instead of Kerry.

11. Peter Huessy in today's Washington Times
The media have begun the process of anointing Sen. John Kerry our next president. The stories of his likeness to another John from Massachusetts -- Kennedy the president -- are now sprouting like daffodils during the spring. The relaxed humor is being talked about, the war experience in Vietnam likened to former President Kennedy in the South Pacific and PT 109. The candidate, we are assured, has gravitas and foreign and domestic experience, and will reach out and be friends to Old Europe. The meanness of the Bush administration will be but a fleeting memory once Mr. Kerry and his liberal boys get a hold on Foggy Bottom and the five-sided puzzle palace once known as the Pentagon. Anyway, that's their story and they're sticking to it. There is one very big problem. The story is baloney....

13. The louder the squeal, the more frightened the pig
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 10:51 AM by hatrack
And as the jobless "recovery" marches on, the 9/11 stonewalling continues and the bodies stack up in Iraq, the squeals will increase in volume until the Fed notices an uptick in orders for window panes and drinking glasses.

Ignore them when possible, crush them with facts when absolutely necesary, and keep a final thought in mind: Hannity? Savage? Rush? Novack? Coulter? Malkin?

FUCK 'EM!!!
