24 hours later, Tweety is calling last night's speech "STUNNING."
"STUNNING, a conservative president giving a speech that sounded like it could have come from LBJ, laying out all of his programs"...

He's clearly inspired.

3. It was stunning, alright....
...I was stunned (not really) how similar it was to the other speeches Dubya has given over the last 4 years. Just exchange 'Katrina', 'Hurricane' and 'Disaster' for 'Terrorism','Iraq' and 'War on terror' - and there ya go. Same shit, different night!

5. That's why I rarely watch Tweety any more
I stick to the Daily Show and Countdown with Keith.

I was kinda miffed (not at Jon or Randi personally) that both Jon Stewart and Randi Rhodes were MIA this week. What a week to be off! Thanks goodness Keith was on to keep me sane! Plus my local talk goddess Lynn Cullen in Pittsburgh!

Well, Jon and Randi will have some great stuff next week to work from. Jon should really have fun with the potty break note!

9. Chris Matthews = Irrelevance
Even when he makes sense, his ego gets in the way and he never allows room for anything except his hyper-inflated ego. He is irrelevant.

18. WTF is wrong woth Matthews?
That moran needs to walk down the hall and talk to his buds at MSNBC Scarborough and Carlson both of whom hated the speech, not to mention KO whom everybody knew wouldn't buy the bs. Do you think he really believes wht he says or is it just that he still gets moist when he thinks about the flightsuit?

27. Chris Matthews, Hardball May 1, 2003:
"We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who’s president. Women like a guy who’s president. Check it out. The women like this war."

You could be on to something, Tularetom!

But watch,in a day or two just to try and do SOMETHING with his ratings he'll toss Dems a fish by doing a sudo-bashing of Bush or Repukes. He knows that Olberman is getting the audience not him.

28. He ought to consider using words like "shocking," then...
...because his emphasis since that speech has been to ask every guest if Bush has "turned things around" or "set things right" after his initial "handling" of Katrina (more accurately, LACK of handling).

He's spending way too much time addressing the damage to Bush's presidency. Bush "brought it AWWWWWWWWWN" himself.
