7. I would think most of us have seen these. On Dobbs a voice
whispered "that's bullshit" in a piece about Rove. Olberman introduces a piece on the Katrina response by showing Chertoff saying "Louisanna is a city under water." Follows with "Well, there's your problem right there..."and hammers Bushco for about five minutes." Last one is voice in crowd heckling Cheney "Go fuck yourself Mr. Cheney" on a live cable feed.

You may have seen this when the poll template cut off most of the text, which I tried to fix right away, looked okay in preview...

2. Anderson Cooper stopping Mary Landrieu in mid sentence
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 07:19 PM by Catch22Dem
EDITED for actual quote:
Senator, I’m sorry… for the last four days, I have been seeing dead bodies here in the streets of Mississippi and to listen to politicians thanking each other and complimenting each other — I have to tell you, there are people here who are very upset and angry, and when they hear politicians thanking one another, it just, you know, it cuts them the wrong way right now, because there was a body on the streets of this town yesterday being eaten by rats because this woman has been laying in the street for 48 hours, and there is not enough facilities to get her up. Do you understand that anger?

I can't remember the exact quote either, but he was excellent.

15. That was my choice, too.
I really like your poll idea, but it needs expansion. No criticism intended, believe me. I am still trying to figure the better Darrin Stephens on my poll.

18. I'm sure I missed several good ones. I never watch Fox but
hear Shepard Smith went off the reservation one night. Let's use this as a starter and try to come up with a better poll by the weekend.

P.S. Dick York? My kids were real little then and called the show "I be a witch."

20. Another old guy. Me, it's my birthday today.
54 today. The puberty was stirred by Elizabeth Montgomery. Big time. Even now. Deep breath for Sam, and let me pull myself together and say Dick York. And, he was a class act until his painful death.

24. I just turned 58, odd that I had kids that could talk while you were
still in puberty (or maybe the show was in syndication by then).

29. I'll vote for that one...
With honorable mention to Shep & Geraldo leaving Hannity momentarily speechless on FAUX News. How often are you gonna see that happen? Shit, for that matter, how often can you say "honorable" in the same sentence as "Geraldo"??

14. This is a different "bullshit" moment. Nothing Novak could say
short of "I'm going to die real soon and Cheney and Rove were my sources..." would be "great" to me.

11. Definitely "other" for me! My vote goes to our local NBC station!!
The director of the Anchorage NBC affiliate telling both U.S. Senator Ted Stevens -and- his son, state senator Ben Stevens that..

"I don't work for you!!" was by far the greatest TV moment for me lately!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

21. Olbermann, No doubts in my mind.
It was fun and it was great to see the self-engrandized lunatic Cheney brought down to size. But that was just a blip compared to Keith Olbermann's beautifully crafted editorial. I have saved that video and text. It is historic.

Olbermann has shown himself to be the level of broadcast journalist that we have not seen since Cronkite and possibly even Murrow. I can see him making a difference. Turning minds. Influencing people. Speaking truth to power.

He even sounds like Murrow.

27. Have to say I agree with you. Really Keith's editorial should be
in a class by itself, but there are no competitors for a poll question that I know of.

about Rove saying he learned about Plame from Novak.

30. Other...
It was not the "greatest" in the sense of the most satisfying...

It was the greatest in terms of being the most heart wrenching and historic thing I have seen on TV in my lifetime...

Aaron Broussard's description on Meet the Press of the man whose mother died on Friday, after calling her son every day since Monday, asking him, are they coming? and the man saying yes, mom, they're coming... and she drowned on Friday... they're not coming, no one is coming to get us...

I'll never forget it as long as I live.
