BUSH + CHENEY=TROUBLE IN PARADISE?
Ever since the flooding of New Orleans I've wondered at Bush's response.
Not only did he look bad, he blew an opportunity to look good and pump
up his fatally descending ratings. If he'd been on top of the situation he
could easily have his believers thinking how concerned he is for the safety
of American citizens, and his poll numbers could be rising. Unfortunately,
some one forgot to wind him up and point him in the right direction.

So did someone in his Administration sabotage Bush? This article suggests
that, yes, someone did--none other than mean old man Cheney.

1. Bush sabotaged himself.
Still, if he ever goes off the reservation, wouldn't be surprised to see an "accident," and Cheney in his succession declare martial law. A good novel there, anyway.

4. No, and you don't have to lecture, since it's my birthday.
No excuse, I know, but I am pretty much officially an old cranky fart today, and can now express my opinions using no basis in fact. Actually, that was a very interesting link. Some weird stuff is indeed happening. I trust you will cut me some slack. Still a hell of a novel there.

7. Many thanks, and a question.
Where the hell is the dawning of that Age of Aquarius my generation was promised? Geez, what a gyp.

8. Happy birthday!
This is a MOST intriguing write-up.

I'll bet ol' dickie is getting awfully tired of having to clean up after idiot george. Especially since it's a whole lot of extra work he probably isn't in the mood to deal with anymore. After all, he has bought that nice mansion ... a retirement spread, I'd suspect. Wants to give Lynnie a nice long time to redecorate and "raise funds" to underwrite the expenses. He's getting up in years, knows he's coming into a bundle of money from all his pensions and Halliburton kickbacks and golden-parachute arrangements and other trust funds and such. Who wants to work that hard anymore? Especially when it's fixing things all nice for some idiot who's just gonna blow it again? Maybe he thinks he's teaching junior a lesson.

And yes, maybe he knows there's trouble ahead from Robert Fitzgerald... because you can bet, deep down, cheney knows how guilty he is.
