17. By what measure?
I want to believe this as badly as you do, but I wonder how you think Iowa and New Hampshire can be compared.

Don't forget anything under 15 percent counted as zero in the Iowa caucuses. That's a very high bar! So how is Dennis doing better tonight?

4. I'm expecting the DK voters to vote late. So everyone hang in there.
Remember a lot of working class people are for Dennis. I think that if Kerry wins the north and Edwards and Clark win elsewhere, we'll have a brokered convention and the only candidate everyone will like will be Dennis. I think the brokered convention may well work out our way. In the meantime, we need to defeat Dean so he is not a factor.

9. Victory would be Lieberman dropping out
Leiberman is just mud in the water to what Kucinich has to say. People that do not know their own Senators might recognize the name of Lieberman. You have to think that people that read DU know 100 times more than Joe Sixpack and understand a big picture and have studied many details.

Victory for Kucinich would be for Lieberman to drop out. I myself think he will be done next Tuesday if he wants to stay around for the beating. It just has to get down a few more candidates.

These two states do not mean anything. It is only now that the candidates have got their talking points down and we will see the power of organizations and money. Of course anyone that supports DK, also counts on the power of real character and the best conception of what is a more perfect union.

People that love,love Kucinich

I love most of what he stands for and admire decided to stay with the Dems (for now) because of Kucinich being a nominee. :)

Some here at DU seem to dislike Kucinich because, by comparison, their chosen nominees look too moderate.

20. I am one of the 562 (as of 8:45 PM)
I am not upset in the least with DK's showing. He brought so many progressive issues to the forefront of the debates and into the minds of all the other candidates. I smiled when I filled in the little oval beside his name today. I knew I was helping get the message out.

We did well. NH is a rough place for progressives of any shape, size, and color.

Onward South!

So, to my fellow DK supporters, and all those hard working campaigners I saw over the last week or so, congrats. We did well.

and I would guess all other DK supporters too.

Remember, there were less delegates up for grabs today than there were in Iowa. This primary season is a loooooooooooong way from over, and we've only begun to fight.

BTW, Seabiscuit was nominated for a Oscar, and will be re-run in theaters soon. Longshots do win.

And Dennis Kucinich is no exception!

I just got home, have no idea what's going on in NH, except that JK and Dean were 1 and 2, according to NPR. They didn't talk about anyone else while I was listening.

So I'm off to find out what the score is; and then on to the next primary!

37. No problem, but you can edit it out if you want --

you just go to your posts and click on Edit (duh!) and you'll see how to do it. When you want to remove an entire post (your post only, of course), you can just change the subject line to something like "Sorry -- posted in error."

Using the Edit function, you could have also chosen to add your apolgy to your first post, instead of making a separate post. Hope this helps and welcome to DU!

What we have now is four cars approaching an intersection at high speed. When the dust clears, it might be the pedestrian over on the side of the road that's still standing.

If Kerry or someone else gets the nomination fairly early, we can still vote for Dennis in our primaries and caucuses to ensure that progressives have a voice in the party.;

We also need Dennis in the race because he's out in front on issues that other candidates pick up on two or three months later.

Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 02:48 AM by FDRrocks
We are damaging our only viable environment, killing each other (and finding more efficient ways to do it en masse), and basically ruining the chances of our race to sustain.

We need a new direction. Iraq amounts to thousands of deaths that were not needed. The pollution created by the war was also unneccesary. Say whatever is prudent, we need a new goddamn direction right now. Ashtma is rampant and that is just the start. The human race needs to smarten up. A good start would be Dennis Kucinich.

I am 20, I am disgusted by the world I was put into. People are so goddamned astray with no outlook towards the future.

Fuck political prudence. Run people who are pro-human, for our children, our childrens-children, etc...

It takes grassroots effort to overthrow the powerful oligarchies that run this world. I know I'm not the only one here who has read 'The Prince' by Niccolo Machiavelli. The ideas espoused in that book are not so outdated.

62. One of my favorite quotes is from Macchiavelli's "The Prince"
"There is nothing more difficult to do, nor more uncertain of success, than to attempt to introduce a new order of things. For all those who profit by the old way will be your bitter enemies, while those who would profit by the change will be but lukewarm defenders."

60. New Hampshire is a very conservative state
It's not by accident that the Liberatarians think they can move there and take over, or that the Union Leader is the big newspaper in the state.

I didn't really expect Dennis to get much out of NH. My hopes were slightly higher for Iowa, but not much because Iowa is also a conservative state.

I don't believe it's an accident, either, that the two states that set our expectations are both historically conservative.
