They all keep each other honest (or more honest than if they were unchallanged).

70. everyone seems waaay too depressed.
clark skipped iowa and spent all that time going whole hog in NH.

i think if there had been more time to work, this would be a very different morning for all the candidates.

6. Over yet? John hasn't hit his 'sweet spot' yet.
This time next week, it will be a different world -- don't worry.

And we know he will be on the ticket; it's just a question of top or bottom. Hmmm... that didn't sound right. :-)

31. This can be a win
New Hampshire simply voted for their favorite sons. If Edwards can hold onto second in front of General Clark - who campaigned for months uncontested in NH - then he can say he did okay. Now comes the non-retail politicing. I think Edwards can play well in that environment.

We have a great field. Congrats to Sen. Kerry again tonight.

4. Geography was the story today, it seems
Like I said in the Clark thread, the local boys blew the others away, and in hindsight, it should not be too surprising.

But the fight goes on and Edwards is still very much alive thanks to his great showing in Iowa last week and his excellent prospects in South Carolina next week!

him to get a higher % but he is in double digits, and a week ago, he had been completely written off in NH. I'm going to keep my eye on the vote totals, though. Will be interesting to see if he can hold widen the gap between himself and fourth place.

GO JOHN!

April 17; 90 pledged delegates, 17 unpledged.

Edwards is definitely on a roll. If my guy falls by the wayside, Edwards is my absolute next choice and I'd really love to see them on the ticket together!

For someone who was being routinely dismissed just a couple of weeks ago, John Edwards is now sitting in the cat-bird seat, primed to swoop down and snatch the prize...

Can you imagine Edwards and Bush in a debate.....

Still, it's a practical tie. Edwards is a strong speaker and a good campaigner, and people will pay more attention to South Carolina than the other states. I'm guardedly optimistic.

65. N. C. district problems still?
Please explain this district problem. My county and city didn't have a Democratic party in 2000. Moved all the districts and polling places. Is this to happen again, or still going on? I don't like this district thing. Heard today that Bush winning the same states as last election would get 7 extra delegates due to redistricting. Somebody make me feel better. Like 2004 isn't going to be an instant replay of 2000!

68. I couldn't decide if this were worth mentioning:
It seems sort of narcissistic, but I wouldn't want any of my actions to make it look like my support was wavering -- I'll be campaigning for Edwards later this week through the evening on the 4th and won't have my heretofore ubiquitous laptop with me, so, in case I can't log in from a desktop somewhere I probably won't be posting from the end of this week until next Wednesday or even Thursday.

I didn't want my absence to startle anyone.

...just a heads up.

In fact, it'd probably be best if everyone here supporting Edwards were missing from DU for a few days and getting voters to the polls in one of the Feb 3 states.
