Official Celebration Thread for KERRY supporters and well-wishers ONLY
A number of news outlets have called the primary for Kerry. Great job!

This is the official thread for Kerry supporters and well-wishers to celebrate Kerry's victory in New Hampshire tonight!

If you are not a Kerry supporter or a well-wisher, please do not post in this thread. The purpose of this thread is for celbration only! Any "sour grapes" or sore loser posts will be delted by the moderators. We will open up separate threads where supporters of the other candidates can interact without disruption from opponents.

Congratulations!

48. I'm ecstatic!
This is fantastic. A great liberal and a potential GREAT President won tonight.

:bounce: I couldn't be happier! :bounce:

As someone unable to work on federal campaigns, my biggest sincerest thanks go out to the people who dared to be cold, dared to be bold, and dared to vote and volunteer for John Kerry in New Hampshire!:yourock: :yourock: :yourock:

To John Kerry, keep up the good work!

I'd want to see Kerry top the ticket. I am pleased with his results given that HE was the one that was written off. I now think Kerry needs to BACK off of Dean and remember we are all going after the White House. There is some bad blood and he needs to consider that Dean does have quite a bit of national support and he is going to need to win the majority of those voters over and for those voters, he DOES represent business as usual even if he doesn't represent that for me.

Show them you can and will pay attention to them, John! :toast:

27. definitely, nsma
JK and all here need to understand that many, many, many of us LOVE Howard Dean. I have only praise for him.

If we want the GE then Dean's young grassroots better transfer, so Kerry better make peace quick when it is over (it isn't over yet) and be very very gracious.

Remember: many of us LOVE this man. I don't throw that around.

I still have minor qualms about Kerry, but decided to defect after Dean's "scream". I think Kerry will make an excellent nominee, and hopefully Edwards will be a great running mate! Good luck and smooth sailing! Kick Dumbya's butt!

73. time for a Decorated Vietnam War Veteran to BEAT a Vietnam deserter
full circle for us old Vietnam-era people....

justice is arriving after so many years....

during Vietnam
-there were those who deserted their military units (like bush* did)
-there were those who faked medical problems to avoid service
(like dean did)
-there were those who fled the country
-there were those who took every possible deferrement to avoid
service (like cheney, who got 5 deferrments)

and then there were the Vietnam HEROS...the ones who were dissed for years and yet, despite all the slimy unpatriotic opposition, there were those who STOOD for OUR Veterans, demanded medical treatment for OUR soldiers, and told Congress to their faces, that the Vietnam war was a LIE....
(like Kerry did)....

so now it the time...it's time for KERRY !!!

It sounds like they're saying, "Playa, Playa, Playa" but I can't imagine that's right. :-)

88. We Won
Edited on Tue Jan-27-04 10:25 PM by Nicholas_J
We won, we won, we won ,we won, we won, we won, we won, we won, we won, we one,we won, we one, we won (14 we won's)

This is not just a win, but by all political stadards, its a landslide.

This bounce will go on, to Missouri, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and on.

While Clinton didn't win either, almost no won who has won both New Hampshire and Iowa has lost the nomination.

A month ago, three weeks ago, the pundits said Kerry's campaign was over. Kerry's comeback was the most spectacular event in the political history of the last 25 years.

Almost exactly as the pollsters laid it down

we did it.

103. Not so strange... military tactic.
During WWII, an outnumbered American unit faced off a German unit. The GIs outfoxed the Nazis by driving back and forth in their one Jeep, passing the few walkie-talkies between different guys, and acting larger than they were. The Germans feared THEY were outnumbered, so they didn't attack. Eventually the Americans were relieved by support troops, who attacked the enemy.

100. Congratulations, Kerry supporters! John Kerry has done well

and I loved how he talked about national defense and brought up the Band of Brothers who are Viet Nam vets. His war record is a great strength for Kerry as a nominee. Dubya and Karl aren't happy tonight.

Listening to the Kerry supporters in NH cheer, I laughed and said "Bush may be sorry he ever said 'Bring it on!' "

I like what Kerry is saying about helping ordinary people instead of the privileged. I hope he will move the party back to the left (and I reflect that in our bizarro world, helping ordinary people is viewed as leftist) and be careful not to alienate progressives or moderates within the party.

but beyond it here on DU it's a different story... :scared:

JK put down the big win he needed before going out into the rest of the nation. Big 'mo now. Money and support will come pouring in.
The real deal became more real tonight. I don't think anyone's ever won Iowa AND NH and not been nominated.

I love JFK more than ever!

As well as a recent Dean supporter who now supports Kerry 110%. I still like Dean and Edwards, but Kerry managed to win me over right before Iowa. I've lurked here for months and finally had to come out tonight in another thread to defend Kerry against yet another attack. Let's enjoy tonight, because it looks like a long bumpy ride now that our guy is the frontrunner.
