Momentum for KOSsacks
From Greg's Opinion:

Tough week for the DailyKOS crowd:

* The vaunted plan to make the DLC "toxic" ... overdue.

* Joe Lieberman's lone primary opponent ... out.

Worth revisiting from Bob Brigham at Swing State Project:

Swing State Project has been closely following the potential 2006 primary challenge to Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman. We've looked at the polls, the geography, the tactics, and the news.
So what did all that homework get them?

Democrat John Orman said he has only raised $1,000 ...

Apparently all the home-grown opposition to Joe that the far left dreamt up just doesn't appear to be there.

1. Oh but "we the people" are rising up!

Meaning, the fraction of the 35-40% of people in Conneticut who don't approve of Joe Lieberman and also are not Republicans.

2. I'm one of them
They need to get some information out there. I live in CT and before coming around DU, I didn't even know that anyone was planning to run against Lieberman.

I'd be overjoyed to replace Lieberman with a REAL (read: non-DLC) Democrat!!

3. you're a testament to the awesome organizational skills..
... of the anti-DLC set.

I've seen candidates for county commissions in rural areas raise more than a $1000. in one night.

4. Maybe people are a little busy contributing to OTHER worthy causes now?
Ya think? And besides, it's still early. Most people are still trying to forget the horror of the last election, not obsessing about the next one.

And no doubt, KOS postponed his dismantling of the Deceptive Lying Cowards because of the Hurricane Katrina situation, as he should have.

So no gloating just yet from Camp From ;)

5. If they've been planning this for awhile
then the hurricane shouldn't be a factor - except to explain why nothing's been done in the past two weeks. It sounds like this has been in the works for a while, but there's been nothing in our papers about it. I've gotten nothing in the mail (and I'm a lifelong registered Democrat so I'm on the voter rolls).

8. yeah... I can just see KOS sending mail to lifelong registered Democrats..
... using info from the voter files.

Imagine those letters dropping in MASS admonishing voters to dump John Kerry -- signed by Markos Zuniga

10. I've only been on the Daily KOS site twice
So I obviously have no clue about these people and site you're talking about.

9. I was referring to the KOS vs DLC battle being pre-empted by Katrina..
...I honestly haven't been following the Connecticut anti-Joementum front, as I'm on the opposite end of the continent, and unfortunately have my own Republite senator (Cantwell) to worry about :(

6. OK obviously there's some feud here
that seems to be ongoing ... so I'll not get mixed up in it.

I have no clue what "Camp From" is anyway...

11. Like defeating the Republicans instead of the Democrats?
I'd start doing that too if I saw that there was a difference between the Republicans and Democrats too, like we saw last week.
