News Hour tonight and the interview with the doctors who had set up the field hospital outside of New Orleans and then sat there waiting for patients, something kept nagging me. The doctor talked about how they heard there were thousands of patients at the airport waiting to be evacuated and still, no one came.

Finally, after several days, he rounded up buses and went to NO to get the patients. As usual, he was told he couldn't have them. Think he even said something about FEMA having their own buses to transport them. FEMA finally gave in and they took them back with them.

Remember how the administration pushes privatization so hard? Remember all of the volunteers who were turned away? I have this awful suspicion that this work was contracted out. If those contractors failed to get there and do their work, they would not get paid or, maybe they were already paid and therefore had to do the work in order for it not to be fraud.

If they were using private contractors and those contractors failed for whatever reasons and people died because of it, the administration would be in deep dodo!

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but, I can't help wondering, why did Gonzales need to come along?
