$2000 per "household"?
So, if I'm a "household" of one, I get 2 grand.
woopee

If I have a wife and three kids with me, I get $2000.
$400 a piece.

That ain't right.
Why not so much per person?
One more screw up.

1. But as the old bag of the Bush household said...
they were underprivileged anyway so this is like winning the Lotto for them :sarcasm:

3. I don't think that's right.
I heard someone on CNN say it was "at least $2,000 per household". I know I heard it right because at the time, I said to myself, well it's good they're taking into account the size of the household.

6. Depends what qualifies as a household
For example, did you know that welfare reform requires a minor child to be living at the address with a parent or guardian. Without a minor child, an adult can not receive cash assistance.

I don't know if that's how they're defining household here, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're using the federal standards for cash assistance (formerly known as welfare) to determine the "up to $2000 benefit" for hurricane evacuees.

7. Some reports said "up to $2000 per household"
If this is true, that means it's likely a per person allocation with a maximum amount of 2K, so it might be more like $400 for you as a household of one, and 2K for you, the wife, and three kids.

Of course, it would also be 2K for you, the wife and five kids. That's where it's truly obscene.

8. I heard "up to $2000 per household" as well
Someone on another thread said he and his father (one household) got all of $600.
