MSNBC: "Democrats declare open season on Bush"
Democrats declare open season on Bush
In wake of Hurricane Katrina, a political tornado gains strength

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9245785/

WASHINGTON - Democrats, divided over President Bush’s handling of Iraq, are coming down hard on his administration’s response to Hurricane Katrina.

Some of the harshest words are coming from 2008 presidential hopefuls. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York ridiculed relief coordinator Michael Brown’s suggestions. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards said the hurricane’s aftermath underscores the “two Americas” theme of his presidential campaign last year. “It’s piling-on time,” said Rutgers University political scientist Ross Baker.

Many Democrats were careful in their criticism of Bush’s handling of Iraq so as not to appear to undermine U.S. troops or encourage the insurgency. Democrats also were reluctant to criticize the president as the nation rallied behind him after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Such caution, however, is not a factor in the open season on Bush’s handling of the hurricane. “It is different when you face a foreign enemy on the one hand versus a domestic failure on the other,” Democratic consultant Mark Mellman said.

15. That's definitely part of the plan
Over the last couple of days I've seen plenty of articles ATTEMPTING to accomplish just that.

Instead of "How DARE you attack a sitting president during a time of war," the message that's starting to seep in is "How DARE you attack a president who is only trying to HELP PEOPLE IN NEED?"

Just check the last two Scott McClellan press conferences for proof. It's sick, and it's 100% Karl Rove.

10. Actually Edwards 2 Americas is the epitome of this complete breakdown
of the gov't's ability to assist her citizens in need. The far gone RW will be unreachable, but they really aren't right in the head anyways. I do see FL, SC, NC and other hurricane disaster states, rethinking their choices, because, THAT COULD BE US!

17. If I read this right . . .
MSNBC is saying that all the criticism of Bush and his inept handling of the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe is simply partisan political sniping. And MSNBC has the audacity to wonder why Democrats weren't speaking with a united voice in opposition to bush's inept handling of the Iraq invasion? MSNBC gives away the game even as it wonders: Because MSNBC would have been right at the forefront, excoriating any critics as undermining U.S. troops and encouraging the insurgency.

Just pick up the twenty on the dresser, MSNBC, and head out for another night's work on your back.

18. I get it!
We will now discuss "Bush Hate" instead of anything more important.

I guarantee this comes straight from Rove.

Start counting how many different people use "open season" or the theme of Democratic partisanship in the next few days. "Blame game" has been a rousing success, time for something new to talk about for days on end.

...I've been hearing (and reading) things like "the Democrats are so desperate to destroy Bush that they have latched on to this tragedy, blah blah blah..."

PURE (or "impure") Rove.
