Police Suicide in NO?
Boston Globe today: Amid Horror, 2 officers commit suicide. Is this true and has it been posted today? Its the saddest commentary on the state of our nation. Even those trained to handle adversity are overwhelmed by the horror they have seen. God help us all.

5. These poor souls endured the worst and now deserve both medical
and mental health care. We owe them big for their bravery in "staying on the job" in the most horrendous conditions - devoid of all humanity! We MUST care for them as they cared for us. :loveya:

4. One of the officers found out his wife died in the flood.
The rescue workers on site are also victims and have lost family members and possessions.

6. That is why you GET CONTROL OF THE DISASTER! Because

crime not only kills & maimes, it traumatizes. First responders are geared to revved to help. When you make them stand down because you lost control of the city...as if that wasn't a predictable outcome...then they are tied up in knots and traumatized by that too.

First responders are not like Arabian horses. You cannot just make them start and make them stop when you feel like it.

7. fucked up beyond all recognition..the absolute worst possible environment.
....there will be no way to spin...hundreds of thousands of homeless in towns...cities and states the homeless are inhabiting at present...the enormity of what's happened down here will be felt far and wide for a long fuckin' time...the gloom and doom of the reality hasn't even gotten started....this is what we've all feared happening all over the rest of the world..now it's our backyard...literally and figuratively...the PNAC New World Order at home...aka..FEMA and Homeland Security and the Greatest Depression of unimaginable perportions has only just begun.
