Help me connect the dots here...
A rw relative has suggested that perhaps the * Admin could have delayed help to NO because of NO's Colombian Drug Cartels needing to remove their stash of supplies from the area first...

Before you put on your tinfoil hats - hear me out and if you have additional information, please add on...

I have been trying to figure out all week how this benefited * and his gang. And if the above has a kernel of truth in it, it would explain the money end of things and also why there were snipers perhaps.

Did a google before I posted and came up with this site http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/bushcheney.html discussing Bush and Cheney's connection with Halliburton and the international drug trade.

If anything, there are deeper issues at work here other than race, greed and general stupidity on their part.

Help me build this up if there is truth here or prove to me I need a tinfoil hat.

Thanks.

1. KBR is a known drug running front, so it's not news to me.
It was not so clear to me that Louisiana would have anything major there for them.

3. If I were a drug smuggler, I think an impoverished area
would be a great place to hide my activities and maybe recruit some employees.

Can you give me more info on the Halliburton connection or a link?

2. IMO, that's a red herring.
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 03:56 PM by Ready4Change
The delay in delivering resources served two purposes. First, it made matters worse in the region, catching more attention. Second, it made Bushs appearance with those held back resources more dramatic.

This scope of this won't be played out for months. What they are shooting for is that Katrina cut away this regions humanity, but Bush saved them. Water into wine. Loaves of bread. etc...

The truth is the Bush Administration delayed the delivery of desparately needed goods to the region for 24-48 hours in order to orchestrate their imagery. Who knows how many lives will be lost due to that delay?

The drug dealer story is a red herring. An easily disputed rumor which, when debunked, taints ANY complaint against the Bush Administration in this situation.

4. I understand but would like to explore a bit more...
Whenever a crime is committed, some one always benefits. I don't know that they would have risked losing lives without a profit involved for them.

I had no idea that Halliburton was connected with international drug trade. Would like more info on that if someone has it.

6. Try this site >>

Cant seem to cut and paste this site: halliburtonwatch.org

Ill look at what ever I can to help out here. I am with you something very fishy. I was told that CBS reported last night sept 2,2005 that truck drivers had loaded trucks of food, water and MREs on monday. However told not to leave until told to do so. Then low and behold they show up for this staged photo op on friday HMMMMM.

I have not been able to find this story anywhere. Mike Malloy also touched on this last night during his broadcast.

Stay on this we can bust this even more open then this already is.

Peace From A BLUE STATE !!!

8. Occam's Razor!
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 04:24 PM by longship
Do not multiply entities unnecessarily!! Stop spinning conspiracy theories.

The solution is very simple.

Chimp and Company were into their usual "catapult the propaganda" mode, which is the *only* thing they do. When this thing hit, they had to be shocked into action because it was so different than anything they've done. In fact, when you put this into perspective, they did the same thing on 9/11. They hesitated. Were it not for the NYFD, a lot more people would have died. The feds didn't get to NYC for a few days.

But Katrina is not 9/11. Rather than three buildings, we've got a huge area of three states, including an entire metro area of some 2 million residents. So the same response to 9/11 is not even close to sufficient. The locals are hopelessly out of their element. It was incumbent on the feds to come through. They hestitated and people have died because of it.

What's worse is that I fear that Chimpy does not understand the differences. I firmly believe that he does not understand that his administration's actions were 180 degrees wrong. And when he casts the blame towards the locals, he firmly believes that this is true. They see the actions that are finally going forward and consider that to be sufficient. And they are beginning to spin this as unavoidable. I do not think it will work this time.

9. Ok. I agree with 'Occams Razor' but try this...
Last I heard, the Red Cross was still not allowed in the city. Why? And on another thread, North Comm didn't get word from * to join in the effort. Why?

It may be they are incompetent, but what if it is more than that?

I appreciate your comments and will try to moderate my response. But I need to explore this thoroughly before I let it go.
