Gov't lack-of-response to flood emboldens the enemy
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 09:40 AM by DarienComp
For the past four years, the Right has been saying that any criticism of the president emboldens the enemy. "What if al Quaida is watching you on TV? Don't you care about the troops??"

Rhetorical question: Which emboldens the enemy more-- watching some powerless Democrat criticizing Bush, or watching the US federal government find itself completely unprepared for a natural disaster that everyone was warned about?

They're probably thinking "Wow, they really don't have their shit together. We could attack tomorrow, if we want."

so as to take the public's mind off what is going on in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast!!!!!

If AlQuaida doesn't plan an attack, PNAC will.

5. I've thought the same thing
Osama bin Laden must be laughing his ass off at the incompetance of the Federal Government.

We don't need to be attacked to have things fall apart here. The whole world is watching this and it is an embarrassment.

7. Excellent point
I heard that our enemies were saying just that. Bush has shown them just how vulnerable we are.

8. I think the past week has weakened us as a nation
Our government has not only been exposed (once again) as completely incompetent, but this time it came with dead bodies, newborn babies with heatstroke, and corpses floating through a city that used to be.

But we also have been weakened by this because it has made everyone feel truly ashamed. Even many conservatives. We're the richest country in the world, and we can't even mount a rescue operation. How many people died who didn't need to? With the entire world watching, our government is humiliating us.

10. you're all right. This event clearly shows our lack of federal
preparedness, and very real lack of national guard troops and supplies. But if Al-Quada did see this as a sign of vulnerability to exploit, this administration would immediately direct the media away from their incompetence, and start the flag waving.

11. ...and i would say that the fact that we haven't been attacked
in the aftermath of this hurricane is a clear indication that the terrorist threat is at least 95% bushCo fabricated myth

12. I agree with tk2kewl
completely. If nothing else, this should demonstrate oh-so-clearly that Bush has never been worried about terrorism. Clearly he knows something he's not telling. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh

14. I;ve been saying this to everyone I talk to about NO
And they all agree -- If you were an enemy of this country, you could not have planned a better week. You saw this country in chaos, with no leader, no plan and no way out.
We're supposed to be the biggest and the best? We look down our noses at other countries around the world? And this is the best we can do?
Bush is weakening our country to the point where I'm literally not certain if we could survive to the point where he eventually leaves office....IF he really leaves.
He must go!!!!
