New Orleans will come back. bush will dissapear.
Every single one of my friends,co-workers and aquaintences that defended bush have turned against him.

I did a thread on my friend Paul(a die hard extremist) who said we should "get the fuck out of Iraq," followed by a small speech on how bush screwed up royaly and he's sorry he voted for him.

My boss. If you look up "Neo Con" in the dictionary, it describes him so perfectly his picture should be on top of the word. On Wednesday he came up to me, knowing I am the sole loud liberal voice in the building, and told me bush is a screw up and should be

"run out of office"

for not preparing for the hurricane and letting gas prices soar.
It was the first time in 7 years he ever said anything bad about a republican!!! And he always had a lame talking point excuse for everything bush did.)

My co worker Jen. She is a repug ostrich with her head in the sand. Or she was. She believed the Brittany Spears line that we should, "Just trust our president and do what he says."

She was crying about the devastation from the hurricane and said, "How could he say he didn't know it would happen?"

and George. (Not "W" my friend) One of the saddest republicans I know. He voted for bush because about the Iraq war Kerry Q "scares me." On my cellphone this morning he left a message that said, "You were right. bush has fucked up the whole country."

1. Great post!
I don't think you're alone. Everyone I've talked to so far is angry, but they're Dems. I'd love to hear other stories like yours!

3. and this is how the Democrats will win?
By default, because Bush fiddled while Rome burned--but they never lifted a finger to oppose him-- rather triangulated on his positions..because to do otherwise would make it "too political" or "political suicide" So, they should be rewarded for their lack of leadership?

Yeah, a real alternative.

5. Well, first things first, you know? If you have a leader in mind, by all
means, propose one.

4. Nice to see these, but....
would these people ever vote for an FDR-style Dem or Green? Because that's what this country will need to get out of this mess.

6. Sorry I missed your thread about your friend Paul.
I NEED to hear this, see this, read this, this morning. I haven't checked many of the stories or threads elsewhere around here yet, which is how I ordinarily get my news in the morning (kid just got off to school and I had time before everybody else around here woke up.

The last thing I remember seeing here last night was a brand new CBS poll that showed bush's numbers going back up - from 40 to 45 percent approval, and I just almost wanted to jump out the window.

Y'know something? If our country is THAT stupid, maybe we deserve a stupid-ass schmuck like him.

THIS. IS. HOMELAND. SECURITY. TOO.

He assured us repeatedly that HE was the guy who'd keep us safe. That HE was the only one with the Magic Protector Cloak, and that NOBODY could keep America from harm. Certainly not John Kerry. And people bought it yet again. And look where we are. LOOK WHERE WE ARE. I'm gratified to see there are at least three fewer people drowning themselves in Kool-aid this morning. Thanks for posting this. I needed it.

7. I've heard similar things from Republicans:
Yeah, I've noticed it too. People can see that this was a total embarassment to our country.
