From the OP of the thread that offends you:
I have been in Cuba during hurricane seasons and during some scares and hits.. During imminent hurricane approaches all in the affected area are evacuated to stocked and ready shelters with doctors and nurses. It is rare for any to die.

That tiny island has its shit much more together than the US regarding the safety of its citizens during hurricane season.

They put us to shame.

Not sure what your point is.

5. Maybe, but everyone in Cuba has a roof, an education
organic food, medical care and can get to a safe harbor in a severe hurricane.

Even the delegation that went there from America (all politicos and academics) a couple years back recognized that.

16. Latin American culture is homophobic
treating gays like shit is actually something that Latin America needs to face as a society. The Cuban government's treatment of gays is a symptom of a fault of a society, and represents its people's (bad) sentiments.

18. Actually, Cuba has the lowest AIDS rate in the western hemisphere
Due to its world renown treatment and award winning prevention awareness.

Cuba has also recently recognized gay unions (marriage).

Not exactly anti gay.

12. Actually, Castro is a brilliant speaker.
I've heard him speak (both in Cuba and in the US) on globalization, poverty, education and science. He is brilliant. Not an asshole at all.

Long live Cuba!

Sorry, but we just don't seem to have the time this week for gratuitous Castro-bashing.

Try again later when things calm down a bit.
