How Would You Like To Be A GI or NG from NOLA Stationed...
in Iraq? What are they being told? Are they being allowed to try and get in touch with their families?

Things couldn't get much worse for them - being in Iraq and now they don't have a home/city to go back to.

1. I was thinking this today.
I heard hardship discharges were available, but how do you present a case when you don't even know what's going on? This presents a real danger to the individual and his/her unit. You need your mind on your mission, not home.

2. that is exactly what I asked the person who answered my
Congressmen's phone this afternoon- all my reps (4) are repubs.
this guy actually got choked up with me.....
I took some good advice and left DU for abit- but couldn't 'let it go'- so i spent the afternoon calling my reps in DC.- every one of them was very sincere and polite.

My 11yr old is writing the president- i told him i wouldn't expect an answer- but that doesn't mean he shouldn't SHOUT out -
We talked about Samantha Smith, and what an inspiration she was to alot of people-

IF i were a serviceperson in Iraq..... i'd be going totallly bezerk-

i can ONLY imagine.... and it makes me want to scream....

4. Wouldn't like it...
Mentioned this earlier..wondering how the National Guard from Louisianna felt about being in Iraq when their State was hit so hard and New Orleans was under siege and they couldn't do anything about it?
